Texas dad beats 4-year-old daughter's alleged attacker to death
Texas dad beats 4-year-old daughter's alleged attacker to death
Quote:
HOUSTON -- A central Texas father who told investigators he fatally beat a man he caught molesting his 4-year-old daughter at a horse barn on Saturday has not been charged, authorities said Tuesday.
Lavaca County Dist. Atty. Heather McMinn told the Los Angeles Times that the investigation was pending and that the case was due to be turned over to her office by Lavaca County Sheriff Micah Harmon.
“Upon the completion of the investigation, the case will be presented to my office and a Lavaca County grand jury,” McMinn said.

I think in the same situation, I would be very close to being in that man's shoes.
I am a very calm person, but whenever I think about anyone hurting my kids in any way, I start to rage.

Castration would have been a lot more tactical, but likely would have involved a weapon of some sorts and thus caused more of an issue legally.
Defending his daughter, I doubt any of the Fathers on this site would have acted any differently.

I'm about as peaceful and non-violent as you can get, but if I actually caught someone in the act of molesting one of my kids I wouldn't exactly be politely asking him to stop.

I am also very calm but if I caught a man molesting any 4-Year-Old Girl, let alone my own daughter, I would be tempted to beat him to death.

I was reading that article earlier. I get so angry reading about child abuse that I really have no idea what I would do if confronted with someone doing it to my kids.

I'm sure in the same position I'd totally do the same. You still have to charge him with something, he did murder a guy after all. I can't imagine a court coming down too hard on somebody for this, but I think they have to do something even if it's just a slap on the wrist.

It must exhausting to walk around with that chip on your shoulder all the time, take a load off, you might enjoy life a bit more.

Some would argue it's not though; the girl didn't die.
But I know what you mean and agree.

I'm pretty sure he was jesting ~ repeating "long and suffering" or whatever his name is.

I dont have kids. I have no problem with what the guy did and certainly see it from his point of view. I expect my father would probably do the same.
But maybe a better apporach would have beating him to within an inch of his life vs beating him to death. I realize the dad probably had very little self control and was just going and going. But if he really wanted to do some damage, beat until hes almost dead then leave him there.

Logical GL: I agree, they can't just let him go, there is a system put in place for a reason.
Anger management classes and probation. Good to go.
Emotional GL: Apparently the guy is very remorseful, he shouldn't be, law or no law the world is better off without that sick twisted frack in it.

Coming from someone that doesn't have a child I am sure that if I did I'd do the same. Like SuperMatt18 said, even if it wasn't my child and I saw a grown man molesting a 4 year old girl I'd do the same thing.
People like this don't deserve to live.
