When I was 18, 5'11 110lbs
Now 24, 5'11 175lbs

Although I was a little under weight when younger, 60 plus pounds can be done, but keeping the added pounds is difficult. Only now am i keeping my weight steady at mid 170 with consistent diet and exercise. 2-3 years ago hit 180lb, but with inconsistent a diet that weight didn't last long.

Also 60 pounds by January could be done. But probably not going to be that healthy, as the human body can only add 1-2 lbs of lean muscle mass a month. The rest would just be water/ fat etc

It very much depends on your genetics and your existing body frame. You may be 6'3", but if you're frame is small you'll be fighting an uphill battle.

I say exercise, get fit, get strong but forget about the "getting huge" thing. Work within your genetics and be happy.

What is 'on average' supposed to mean? The average person doesn't do it because they don't know what the hell they're doing in the gym.

But it is certainly possible and, yes, without steroids.

My frame isn't small though, I just need to fill it out. My goal isn't to be huge, I just want to look a normal adult. 200lbs at my height looks normal. My buddy is 200lbs and I am 2-3" taller than he is.

Yea i guess it could be possible, but i remember reading an article about a leading nutritionist and his research, and how you can only put on about 20 lbs of lean muscle in a year.

Unlike the tendons and ligaments, studies have shown that muscle responds by adapting after a period of several weeks or even months of progressive loading (McDough & Davies, 1984). It also should be noted that the protein turnover rate in collagen occurs approximately every 1000 days.
This clearly shows that even if one were to gain in bodyweight, the body would only be able to accommodate a certain amount in the form of muscle; otherwise, the muscles would fall prey to injury due to the time-span in adaptation rates for various other tissues.

Those who scoff at this and continue to believe they've gained super size over such a short period forget, as suggested earlier, that much of the increased bodyweight is largely due to increased body fat stores, glycogen and water.

The Colgan Institute of Nutritional Sciences (located in San Diego, CA) run by Dr Michael Colgan PHD, a leading sport nutritionist explains that in his extensive experience, the most muscle gain he or any of his colleagues have recorded over a year was 18 1/4 lbs. Dr Colgan goes on to state that "because of the limiting rate of turnover in the muscle cells it is impossible to grow more than an ounce of new muscle each day."

Why would you quote articles if you're not going to link to them?

Question: I've noticed many people on CP using Superpump 250 for their pre-workout drink. After looking online it seems to be discontinued for Superpump MAX. Are you guys using this then or what?

Right now I just take my protein shake afterwords and I often find myself quite dead during my workout (then again I am only newbie so my muscles are pathetic) so I want to start taking a pre-workout drink to boost my energy levels.

I've narrowed my choice between Superpump MAX and Juggernaut. Suggestions?

superpump is back after they slightly reformulated, apparently to make it more tummy friendly.

I have been using it for a while now (a few years) and it's amazing stuff. You're body just has an extra gear.

My only issue is that working without the stuff doesn't seem as fun anymore, which makes me wish i never started taking it in the first place. Though the results are quite good.

Try Jack3d. Probably the best pre-workout supplement I have tried. It's illegal in some countries, so the stuff is the real deal. However, I stopped using pre-workout supplements completely since your body gets use to the stuff and requires you to take more scoops which is dangerous to your cardiovascular health.

Also, since your only goal is to gain weight... **** cardio and running. You're trying to reach a caloric surplus not a deficit. Lift heavy, eat like a king and sleep like baby.

I only run for 4-6 minutes at the beginning of my workout to get my heart going. I was going to try Jack3d, but as you mentioned it is illegal (one of the ingredients, 1.3 dimethylamylamine is banned) so I'd prefer to not use it. It's banned in Canada anyway so I would need to ship it in from somewhere else and customs may take it away.

I think I'll buy some Superpump later tonight.

Comments about Gaspari Nutrition® SuperPump™ Max - Fruit Punch:
I am an avid N.O. XPLODE user. my gnc guy talked my into trying this with garuantees if i didnt like it i could swap i tou for my xplode. first off, bad taste, doesnt gas up in shaker telling me its a potent elixer of power, no tingles or jitters (which i thrive on) i was slightly motiviated but did not destroy the gym and morph into a beast like i do when on other products. small quantities for more money. i took it back next day for my xplode and seven bucks back. could be worth a try if you hate jitters, tingling, extreme motivation and fear of morphing into killer gym animals that eat treadmills and bench every plate in the house!
BOTTOM LINE No, I would not recommend this to a friend

The guy tried it once, didn't like it because it didn't give him the jitters like cocaine does and brought it back the next day.

Second of all, the guy shops at GNC.

Yeah I honestly don't care about the product, I just posted the review because I found it so stereotyp-ingly humorous.

I am working out and trying to bulk on muscle. Does whey help out a lot for protein? I find meats to be quite pricey. Or is there other products that are better?
