$2199 is the starting price with a 2.3GHz quad-core chip, 8GB of RAM and 256GB of flash storage.

I might do this over the iMac!

The "next generation Macbook Pro".

The original 15" is still there, updated like the 13". This is a new model.

with all the rumoured stuff getting released this week, I don't think there was ever a chance that all of it was going to be announced at the keynote. Might just announced quietly later on this week.

Or being saved for a Jobs-esque "one more thing..." announcement before the end of the keynote.

I dunno, I think it'll just be a spec upgrade alongside the Mac Mini so maybe they will just mention "imac and mac mini being updated too", or a press release later this week. surprised it didn't get mentioned at the same spec bump of original macbook pro's though.

Would you guys recomend buying the old macbook pro 13" as the updates don't seem all that large? Could probably save a buck or wo.

The Mac Pros are getting updated soon too, and there's been no mention of that yet either.

I don't have an iPhone 4s, but did Siri not work in Canada before? Was it region-locked to only be available to US customers or something? Or did it just not pull data from Canada-specific sources, making it less useful to Canadians?

The latter.

Did I just read that right? We can now use FaceTime on cellular data plans? Is that in the U.S. or is Rogers gonna allow that too?

My god the maps are well designed. Love the turn by turn design... not a thing that is done very well very often.

Edit: No iOS 6 on iPad 1. Sad face. Not devastating, but unfortunate. I don't see myself using too many of these on my iPad to be honest, but it'd be nice to have.

In that same vein, it's coming to 3GS phones and up, which is quite impressive. I bought my 3GS at the same time my buddy bought his Nexus One and I rubbed it in his face that iOS 5 worked on my 3GS while whatever Android operating system at the time (ICS?) dropped Nexus One support. Not to turn this into an Android thing... I'm just very surprised even the next iOS update will come to the 3GS.

Siri can't do anything involving locations right now in Canada. It can set timers, alerts, reminders, tell you the time, send/read text messages ect, but it can't do things like directions or "find me a ____" requests. This makes things so much better.
