Apparently since RDJ really made almost no money from Iron Man, it was worked into his contract for Iron Man 2 that he recieves a percentage of profits for every Marvel movie he makes an appearance in as Tony Stark. His percentage is obviously based on screen-time or something of the sort. But word is he made over 50 mil from the Avengers while other cast members were between 1-3 mil.

i must have missed that from the first film, how was it foreshadowed? and i'm not sure if they really want to go the pure "magic" route for the films, they'd have to do something else to explain mandarin's powers

IM3 villain is Ben Kingsley but I'd heard that he won't be playing the Mandarin. At least not the same Mandarin from the comic books.

I think Scarlett Johnassen was paid about $6m for Avengers. Most of the other cast members got $2m or $3m.

It's to do with the ten rings that Mandarin wears and the ten rings gang in the first film. Check out this site for a quick break-down.

I read on IGN that Kingsley playing the Mandarin is the worst kept secret in the Marvel-verse at the moment. But apparently they've changed a few things so as to not villify(sp?) the Chinese. Obviously, Kingsley isnt Chinese.

Thinking about it, she may have gotten the most screen time of any character in the movie so it makes sense.
Or they gave her a $3 mil boob bonus. Which I'm not going to complain about.

I understand the point of the love interest, but it didn't work in the movie.

Agree 100%.
The problem was the movie tried to force too much in for a relatively short period of time. He's on Asgard, things go wrong there. Then he's on Earth. He falls in love with Portman despite the fact he's said almost nothing to her.
They should have kept the focus on Asgard. Maybe developed the love story more in the sequel. The kind of relationship they were puporting the two to have, would take time to build. There was zero reason to declare it in the first movie. It would have been handled much better the way they are hanlding the Pepperpots/Stark realationship in Iron Man.

Those brothers are blessed with money, good looks and the ability to pick up any chick they wanted. So unfair.

I'd pay to go watch the directors cut in theatres.
