Nothing is "DEMANDS", because it's the server's JOB.
Secondly, I have given typed or written orders to servers before. It's honestly more for me than them since *I* tend to FORGET all the things I want to order the way I want it at times. For example, I remember once I forgot to tell a server I wanted my bacon extra crispy. If I would have pre-typed it out or written it out, I would have not forgotten. I also do it somewhat because of lazy servers that aren't willing to write my order down. I do it mostly though(99%) due to my not remembering to say everything. Especially when they may ask you "So do you want this" or a question like that, so then in some ways it's distracting more than if I would have been able to say what I wanted in it's entirety and THEN ask me questions. Makes me forget more if they ask questions in the middle of me ordering.
I don't write down I want a box, a bag, the check, etc. I haven't given a typed or written order in a while, because I try to remember everything and reread the menu description before I order, because I really do want the server to *EARN THEIR OWN TIP* by doing their job which is to write down my order. The times servers didn't write down my order, most of the time, something or THINGS got forgotten, mostly more than one thing.
The servers should be writing down I want a box, a check, a dessert, a bag, etc since I am asking for a lot of stuff at once, it's hard for them to remember it seems since the servers keep forgetting stuff everytime I TRY to make it easier for the both of us, it's not for them since they are TOO LAZY to WRITE the stuff down. Even once I warned a waitress it was a lot of stuff, she didn't take the que 6-7 things I believe I asked for, and forgot the check which is one of the things I asked for and one of them she couldn't bring yet was a dessert.

Their job isn't to be your slave and fetch whatever you want. They do have other customers after all. When you occupy their time so much, they don't really like it very much.

You do realize that you forgetting to tell them you want your bacon crispy is not their mistake? And how the hell do you not remember what to order? Short term memory is one thing, but I'd assume since you always order it crispy that you'd always remember. Unless you were hammered or have amnesia. And if you can't remember things as you're being asked, how do you remember anything at all?

No you don't want them to give them anything. You look for every reason in the world not to give them a good tip.

You writing things down to make sure they get it right is an insult to them. And when you insult young, likely immature people, do you think they're going to go all out to ensure you have good service? Again you've said it yourself: In all your millions of posts, you've converted 3 people.Thats a pretty miserable rate, and shows most people tip usually the 15%. So clearly they aren't going to care about some customers they don't like, like obviously yourself. They can throw away a good tip just to piss you off. I bet you are notorious around your town and get crappy service just so people can come to places like here and laugh their asses off.

I'm thinking about opening a new tshirt company in Louisiana. The shirt will be to wear when you eat out for dinner. It will say 'I am NOT Springs' it will instantly get you the best possible service and pube/spit free meals.

Their job *IS* to be your slave. That's what *EARNING A TIP IS ALL ABOUT*. YOU ARE VERY LAZY AND UNCARING!! I wouldn't want you as my server. You want my money, GET TO WORK!!
They have other customers, but you still should do things in the *ORDER* in which they came in to be *FAIR* and not a CUTTER.

Of course not, they are lazy.

WELL OF COURSE IT'S *MY* MISTAKE, DUHHH!! I am taking credit for it IDIOT!!

It's NOT easy when you order heavily modified orders.

No, I am looking for every reason to NOT DING them on the tip. YOU ARE WAYYY THE HELL OFF BASE, WAYYYYYY. I want nothing to go wrong if possible.
Quote:
You writing things down to make sure they get it right is an insult to them.
|
WHY? When I am actually *HELPING* THEM do their job. One waitress THANKED ME and told me how cool it was that she didn't have to write all of that down. You shouldn't be insulted if it's a lot of stuff. You won't have an issue with thinking the customer said this or that when it's 100% certain what the customer said.
They shouldn't feel that way. I don't have confidence anymore that the servers are going to get it right. It's also not mostly for that reason. It's to HELP ME REMEMBER EVERYTHING I ASK FOR.
Quote:
And when you insult young, likely immature people, do you think they're going to go all out to ensure you have good service?
|
Actually, YES, because it's not an insult, if anything I have had MUCH BETTER LUCK with my order being correct when I have given typed or written orders than not given typed or written orders, for REAL. I am not insulting them. It's to help *ME* remember. I also don't have confidence in that the server is going to do the job correctly. I'd rather have it right than wrong so I have better service and they should be happy they don't have to go through the trouble of writing my order down.

Slavery was abolished in 1833, I realize some folks in the south haven't given up on the cause, but it's time to come to grips with that fact.

I'll further rebut you in a bit, but this to me sums it up. You want nothing to go wrong, you just expect something to go wrong. When you expect the server to screw things up, why are you surprised and angry it happens anymore?

Springs1, you had me at
Quote:
"MOZZARELLA STICKS
Golden fried and served with a tasty marinara sauce. $6.69"
This means that if I order mozzarella sticks, I AUTOMATICALLY am ORDERING the marinara unless I SPECIFICALLY say I don't want the marinara, which is the sauce it comes with that I am PAYING for, which at most restaurants, they don't even charge for extra condiments.
WHY is it that servers ASSUME you could ONLY POSSIBLY WANT ONE SAUCE, especially when APPETIZERS are normally SHARED, which means that one person may want ranch, the other may want marinara or both people may want more than one sauce. WHY is it that SOME servers are too STUPID to take an order at times?
|
Serious??? Is the server supposed to say, would you like, ranch, light ranch mustard, ketchup, chipotle, thousand islands, vinegar, olive oil, mayonaise etc???
PS: fine dining = minimal modifications to your food... most owners I know of ***&^* hate it when you customize your food at a fancy place

No, the server is supposed to *READ THE *FREAKIN MENU DESCRIPTION AND KNOW THAT MARINARA ********COMES********* WITH THE ITEM ALREADY. NO NEED TO REPEAT THE MENU ALREADY, UNDERSTAND? SO what if I order an extra sauce, SO? What does that have to do with the sauce it comes with? NOTHING if I didn't specifically state I didn't want the marinara in some form or fashion.
