The Jays are apparently working with Anthony Alford's college commitment for his football scholarship in order to allow him to play for them in the offseason for baseball, while being in the jays system during the baseball season.
It would allow us to sign him for less money (near slot) while having him have the ability to possibly develop as a football player.

6 of the jays first 7 picks were listed in the top 45 of Baseball America's top 100 list and Mitch Nay was #101. When you get 6 of the top 45 players in a draft, it's likely you've had one hell of a draft regardless of what league you're in. It also helps that they're likely going to be able to sign all 7 of their top 3 round picks.

Probably doesn't have that big of a future QB'ing with his size, so no real threat of him going to the NFL and his talent is one of the best in the drafts. A huge coup by AA.

If AA can get pen to paper with Nay Gonzalez DeJong Davis and Smoral, this draft will be a great one and realistically, he shouldn't have any trouble doing so, and might just might have enough room to snag a few of the decent HS guys he took later on.
