Sorry. You're wrong. Tips do count and banks do use tips as income. As long as you can prove a two year history, there is no reason any lender won't use it.
I've been a mortgage underwriter for five years with three different lenders and we would've used it in every case. But no server ever claims as much as they make.
Same thing with bonuses and overtime. If you can prove a two year history, they'll use it.

For my first house I had only been working for 3 months and was a student before that. They took all of my overtime over three busy months and multiplied it by four to extrapolate for the year. They also took rental income from a chainsaw that I owned but rented back to the company when I used it with the same extrapolation. That was a few years ago though during the heyday of Alberta's last boom.

Well back then alot of lenders were trying to get as much business as they could without putting too much weight into quality. Property values were increasing significantly so their collateral was security enough. I’d be surprised if the same exceptions were made now as they were back then.

I cannot believe I just came across this now (I posted pre-Spings1). This is beyond amazing and hall of fame worthy. I am honestly not sure if anyone is more dedicated to anything as much as Springs1 is dedicated to commenting on restaurant service/tipping.

We have two hall of fame worthy threads in the same night?
Probably not. Good, but not Hall worthy.
This one is better than the other, but come on. It's no Pillsbury or Wannamker. Not even close.
And you weren't even here for the epic Lanny debates that got killed before the new software.
Let's not make something 'epic' for the sake of making it epic. When it happens, it will happen.

Until we find out that our old friend Lanny is married to Springs1 and it all makes sense.

The darling Springs1 is still very much alive however, this time she has infiltrated a
"MMO CHAMPION- WOLRD Of Warcraft News and Raiding Srategies"message board.
http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...t-a-restaurant
This is a fresh post from yesterday and once again she defends her championship of greatest internet troll, responding to each post against her individually and already racking up 63 total posts in just under two days.

I have a question about tipipng. How much do you tip your barber? Hair cut was $20 and he does a straight razor on your neck.

Needs to be posted again - the English --> springs1 translator.
Just type whatever you want to say, and it converts it to how springs1 would type it.

I usually leave 5 if they do a decent job. I don't cut my hair very often though. I might be cheaper if I went monthly.

I gave a $20 tip the last time I saw my barber. This was about 7 years ago. I went in, asked my barber to shave my whole head, which he did after asking if I was sure. Then I paid, gave a $20 tip, and said "Thanks, I'm never going to see you again".
Hmmm. Not bad!

I love the random message boards she continues to pop up on, the last more abstract then the one before it.

I usually give about $2-5, depending on how thorough they are. They get $5 if they straight razor the hairline and around the ears.

We might need to make a new tipping thread then. It was a pretty good discussion until Springs1 came in and shut down all rational debate.
I still think she is a waiter who takes the persona on to cut off debate and make everyone feel bad for waiters.

Wait, I thought she was just some old Calgary Puck poster?
This thread had played itself out, people who believe tipping is some fascist extreme, are not going to change their mind.
Being a server requires some type of personality, and someone to actually devote their time to it. Springs1 had 63 posts in one day on the World of Warcraft board. She is just the most crazy as hell troll the internet has ever seen, and has been doing it for over a decade.

No, I am not a server. I have never been one either, only counter help that was something even close to a waitress, but I never was a waitress before.
