My biggest worry is exactly what VAMFLAMESFAN is saying, Germany will come out flat and Portugal steals a result. In a 6 game round robbin Germany and Netherlands probably make it out of the group everytime. In such a short tournament getting that first win right off the bat is crucial. Germany needs to come out hard. The Bayern players need to use the Champs league final to fuel them. They need to come out flying and grab the momentum right from the start. I certainly hope they do.

Well I guess I'll give my ideal as well, since everyone is doing it.

Group A
1. Poland
2. Czech
3. Greece
4. Russia

Group B
1. Denmark
2. Germany
3. Netherlands
4. Portugal

Group C
1. Ireland
2. Croatia
3. Spain
4. Italy

Group D
1. England
2. Sweden
3. Ukraine
4. France

QF
Poland over Germany
Denmark over Czech
Ireland over Sweden
England over Croatia

SF
Ireland over Poland
England over Denmark

Final

England over Ireland.

Now since absolutely none of that is realistic, here's what I think will happen.

Group A
1. Russia
2. Poland
3. Czech
4. Greece

Group B
1. Netherlands
2. Germany
3. Denmark
4. Portugal

Group C
1. Spain
2. Ireland
3. Italy
4. Croatia

Group D
1. England
2. Sweden
3. France
4. Ukraine

QF
Germany over Russia
Netherlands over Poland
Sweden over Spain
England over Ireland

SF
Germany over Sweden
Netherlands over England

Final

Netherlands over Germany

I think if the English can win their group, then they have a pretty favourable run to the finals, but they'd still need quite a bit of luck.

Unlike others I want the "Big" teams to make it through the tournament. One thing I always liked about Euro is you tend to get more of the "big" teams playing each other and it makes for great historics and drama.

Italy breaking Englands hopes and dreams in the final would be awesome.

My ideal is just an exciting tournament with lots of close games and plenty of goals. When it comes to my heritage, I am such a mutt that I wouldn't have to dig too deep to justify cheering for any of about half the teams at the Euros.

I know it's unlikely but I really want poland to win this thing. I was just there and they are super excited it kinda reminds me of Calgary during the 04 cup run. Im pretty much a noob when it comes to football but will the games be on TSN?

Every group game, save for the final day in each group, are at 10am then 1245pm. The final day all games are at 1245 iirc. Every one of which are in tsn or tsn2.

Some games are on ctv but not until the sf or final I think.

It would be nice if Holland could actually win one of these things, but I think this is the year they go out in the group stage. Germany will make it for sure, then its a toss up between Portugal and Denmark.
I'm predicting a Germany/Italy final, but I could see a dark horse like Russia making a run.

Oh, I remember. This is always the fear though, for any of the big countries. Need to start quickly

I have to change my pick due to a bet I have in the non-internet world. I'm switching my final result to Spain over Germany.

With the best coverage you think they would have known about Cesc's transfer to Barca...

It'll be difficult to do in toxic jerseys.

10 Interesting Facts about each team and its players. Link is for Italy, bottom of page has links to the rest of the teams.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footba...ub-ammo-864773

For example:
Quote:
9. Antonio Cassano enjoys Italian croissants after sex – especially when in the team hotel the night before a match. He said of his time at Real Madrid: “I made friends with one of the waiters. His job was to bring me 3 or 4 cornetti after I had sex. He would bring the cornetti to the stairs, I would bring the girl and we would make a trade: he took the girl, I stuffed myself with cornetti. Sex plus food, the perfect night.”

10. Cassano says he told Fabio Capello to “#### off” at least 20 times during their spell at Roma together. During one bust-up he screamed at the future England coach: “You’re a piece of ####, you’re more fake than Monopoly money”. Don Fabio later coined the phrase ‘Cassanato’, meaning behaviour detrimental to team spirit.
