The thing that gets me about all this is that these policies are all being developed by people who went through school when you got real marks, and either passed or failed. It wasn't that hard. I can't imagine where this world is headed. I get the need for adapting the environment to help the kids who struggle, but to just push them through is doing them a disservice and setting them up for failure. I have three kids, two who do phenomenal in school with little to no prompting and one who struggles. This system has gotten him in over his head several times and the stress compounds quickly. Some days we can't even get him out the door, but when the school actually spends some time teaching him one on one, he learns and he feels so good about himself.

It would almost be worth it to totally fail out our human health and sexuality classes with a complete 0.

That way when your arguing with your significant other you can truly say that you don't understand woman and it would be true.

I wish the schools I went to hade a no 0% policy when I was a kid. I probably wouldn't have gotten grounded so much.

About time to open up a private school with an advertising campaign revolving around "Parents, if your kid doesn't do the work we'll be happy to give them a zero".

Dorval said he always gave uncompleted work what is called "reluctant zeros," where his students were given a number of opportunities to make up the assignment and have the zero replaced with a mark.
This is what makes the zeros reasonable in my opinion. Students had many opportunities to make up for the missed assignments, yet they continued to avoid opportunities to fixed the missed assignment. If you are given 3 or 4 chances to avoid an 'uncompelte' assignment and you don't take them, I'm not sure how you can defend those actions against a zero mark.

Default Thanks

You must love how the media turns you words around. That was not the way my argument was to be taken. But thanks for being bias and not really hearing the other side.

Everything in highschool pretty much looked like that.

You know your a teenager when your 60 year old overweight science teacher is reduced to a set of boobies in your imagination.

Why would I explain myself to people like you? Not worth my time.

And yet...you took the time to create an account and respond not once but twice. Something tells me you wanna explain yourself.

1) It took me several seconds to realize you're Cindy Smith, of the article.
2) What's the other side then? I'd be interested to hear your argument in full as oppose to the snippet thrown out by media. I think you're pretty eager to clarify your comments if you have visited this site (likely) twice thrice to mention your comment is pretty much out of context.
