Violent Assault in Beltline
Last night there was a violent assault a block away from where I live, around 6th St SW, and 15th Av SW. Police have got the entire street taped off, and they are interviewing residents. It appears to be random. I heard the dude who was beaten was in critical condition:

With all the high rise condos/apartments surrounding the scene, I am surprised the perps were not caught shortly afterwards. It looks like it could have happened on the street, and the area is quite busy, especially at night.

Oh I get it, come into a thread and blame everyone else so as to take attention away from yourself.

Isn't that address near a park that's a popular spot for drug addicts? Total speculation on my part, but maybe it was not a random assault but a rather a drug deal gone bad?

Everyone always talks about drug deals gone bad, nobody ever mentions all the good ones. It's too bad, because there really is a lot of smooth, friendly drug transactions out there, but the bad ones give drug dealing a poor image.

Bedlam in the Beltline!
Just one block away, there was an explosion, as a woman crashed her vehicle into a gas station on 17th Ave SW.
Woman drivers, sheesh!

Why won't anyone think about the victim! It's always "who did it?", or "I'm going to point my the finger at someone else!" Mean while the guy is laying there with a torn anus from a package of baby carrots and a crack pipe! Have you no compassion?! For shame on all of you. Who is to blame? You are to blame! All of you!

Wow.
Looks like it may have been a completely random attack. It would make sense, as Police would not be knocking on doors in nearby homes and apartment complexes to interview potential witnesses, if it was involving drugs or some other shady activity.
