I found a legendary axe in Act 1 in the Leoric mansion area. It didn't seem too fancy but it has a different text colour than everything else so I got super excited. Are these the equivalent of the beige texted items from Diablo 2?

i recognized his voice immediately, given i'm probably one of the few people to watch the Enterprise series in it's entirety. Leah is also Bastila from KOTOR and FemShep from Mass Effect, the blacksmith is Loghain from Dragon Age Origins, Khule is Oghren from DA:O, and i'm pretty sure i've heard Claudia Black from Farscape doing a voice too, but i can't remember where

I gave up on dogs, they die too easy and I find it just a waste.

Heres what Im using right now: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculato...dST!WbV!bYYcZZ

This is my goto right now for trash mob groups, single target/elite mobs I'll usually swap out a talent or two depending on the type of fight.

Basically its me and two tanks, templar and my big sexy Gargantuan, run in to get my stacks for soul harvest, usually right after a grasp of the dead to slow, then move just far enough away to get swarm in, and further away to throw out haunt and spam poison dart, refreshing and slowing everything I can.

The biggest thing so far in Hell is just running away a lot, the passive spirit vessel is such a OP passive, it saves me more times than I can count, and its short cooldown means you can even get in a long drawn out kite and run fight against very pesky mobs, like those stupid huge teleport melee dudes and the tongue lashing guys... Grrr.

Played a bit last night, seems ok, nothing spectacular. I dont like how the skill system works so far, much prefer D2's style.

Throw in Rain of Toads for some unlimited AOE spam as you can regen mana faster than the cost. I grasp then Rain of toads and a nice poison rain cloud. Nothing makes it through with a high enough DPS weapon to boost that spell damage.

i find the clock in the corner a distraction, all it does is tell me how late it is and that I need to turn it off... poor design choice on blizzards part.

probably why I am still working through normal.

Anyone else find themselves quite tired today?

I lost my first harcore character last night on the Butcher... I don't know why I feel compelled to do hardcore... It makes the game a bit scarier!

I know you're joking, but you can turn off the clock in the options menu.

James Hong is Covetous Shen, the guy you rescue from a barrel. Also known for voicing Mr. Ping in Kung Fu Panda.

That guy has been in soooooo many shows and movies its utterly nuts, his career spans 6 decades, but I remember him from such films as Bladerunner and Revenge of the nerds 2

Yeah, I distinctly recall saying "wait a second...that is Po's dad!".

I love the voice acting on the female Witch Doctor as well. Perfect casting and she is super hot...which has nothing to do with the voice acting, but is still important.

I am hoping someone here can give me advice on how D3 will run on my laptop.

I've got a 2009 aluminum macbook which I upgraded to 4gb of ram. However, I obviously can't upgrade the video card. I have checked the minimum required operating specs from Blizzard and it seems to be passable. The video card I have is not mentioned by Blizzard as one which isn't supported. I've run Starcraft 2 on the lowest graphics for a while, which has been fairly smooth. I was ready to give Diablo a shot until I read this post:

Weird thing is games like Starcraft 2 and WoW ran fine for him on low settings and everything I've read about D3 is that it can basically run on a calculator.

His machine is a 2009 Macbook Pro (13.3 in - so no fancy graphics card). Might just be an issue with the mac port - but thought I'd mention it incase any people with similar machines were on the fence.
Has anyone else tried Diablo on a Macbook? If it doesn't run on the MBP, I'm not too confident it'll go well on mine.

So after much thought I have come to the conclusion this did not live up to my expectations at all. I haven't played for 3 days now and truthfully I have no desire to play it.

It just doesn't have that "something" that D2 did or other games do (like MW1, or Ocarina of Time, GTA: San Andreas).

The leveling system is beyond stupid and the skill "tree" in this game is non-existent and boring. And having people max level in like 6 days is not what Diablo games are about.

From my time with it I'd give it a 7.5/10 at this point. I'll have to try other characters other than the Witch Doctor before I completely write it off, but the game isn't doing it for me like D2 did.

After playing it a bit more, I like the variety of skills you actually use. In D2 you maxed out few skills and really used only 2 skills. I mean with a Sorc you were shooting FO/Blizzard with the occasional meteor drop on cold imunes. So that's good.

I think what kills the game is the open AH. In D2, I played with what I or my buddy found. If I didnt find the item in the game, I didn't have it. Made the game more challenging, I beat Baal on Hell with below average gear (best item were Magefists haha, not a single SOJ for example).

Now? Having problems dealing damage? No probs, AH to the rescue. Having problems finding decent armour? No probs, AH to the rescue. Sure, you don't HAVE to, but with the way the game works now, without decent equipment you are dead in the water. I started with DH, and the 1H crossbows I found in Act 1 dealt less than 50% damage than 1H crossbows that sell for 200 gold. Does ANYONE play only with gear/weapons they find? I'd be more than half of people's gear comes from AH. And you can't really play any other way because the stuff I keep finding is simply underpowered to stuff that's almost for free on AH.

Sure, as I level up I will find more gear but people playing 24/7 will naturally find more stuff and put it up on AH and you simply have to give in a buy stuff from there because you cant kill a fly with "normal" drops.
