Bayern couldn't finish. Clear and simple. Cracked under pressure.

Not sure how Bayern were all that much more deserving considering their luck getting past Real and their inability to capatilize on anything today.
It was going to suck whichever of these teams won today, I guess it sucks a little more watching Chelsea since I dislike them as a team and it screws over Tottenham.

Bayern had their chances and blew it, possession and chances mean NOTHING if you dont finish the job. Lead blown in 88th minute, missed PK in extra time, then blew their lead in the PKs.
Chelsea was determined, never gave up, and went into Bayern to get the win. You don't just win the Champions League by accident and they deserved it just as much as Bayern would have.
I question the coaches decision to have Schweinsteiger shoot though, he was clearly out of gas at the end of the game and just didn't have the energy to take a good PK.

Dear Mario Gomez,
Please redeem yourself in the Euros
Congrats to Chelsea, you defended well, had a helping hand from all the misses but you didn't give them much outside those 4 or 5 glorious chances. Congrats, tip my hat to the champions of Europe

yeah but not sure there was anyone else.. they had lost Muller on a insane substutition and then Ribery to injury. Heck they had to use Neuer to take a penalty.
Boateng maybe? Kroos?

Soccer is so friendly. If in hockey the Stanley Cup finalists had to walk by the new Champions to get their silver medals, there would be a brawl.

Alaba would have been so nice just for penalties

The thin line between winning and losing.
Avram Grant takes over Chelsea on an interim basis, gets Chelsea to the CL Final and Terry hits the post. He's now in the wilderness, can't find a job in England.
Di Matteo takes over Chelsea on an interim basis, gets Chelsea to the CL Final and Schweinsteiger hits the post. He can probably have any job now. Chelsea might just keep him!

How much soccer do you watch? Players have gotten murdered over missed chances, own goals and/or bad luck. Not to mention the much larger fanbases that get easily set off and can riot and resort to hooliganism, as has happened all over Europe.
I've never seen a hockey player throw punches at other players over losing the Stanley Cup.

How'd you interpret hooliganism into that? I was just talking about player comradery.
And I was not being serious.

Seeing Abramovich lift the CL trophy made me nauseous. That is something I hoped I'd never see.

I don't know if you could write a better ending.
Season looked over. Napoli was up 3-1 on Chelsea in the round of 16. They barely get by. In March VB is fired, the team dropped in the EPL standings. No one gave Chelsea a chance against Barcelona. They go into Barca and go down 2-0 and down to 10 men against one of the best teams ever. They manage to draw 2-2. Then they go up against Bayern in Munich, missing 4 players, including their captain as huge under dogs again. They get out played but hang in long enough to have a chance. Both games against Bayern and Barcelona turned once Messi and Robben didn't score on their penalties.
Drogba redeemed himself for that stupid penalty he gave up, but the MVP was Cech without a doubt.
Sorry that post was all over the place, but I'm not thinking coherently right now.

Man is Drogba ever going to cash in with his next contract, so unbelievably clutch. The hookers & blow should be on his tab tonight.

This is pretty damn close to the worst I've felt as a football fan. 300 minutes of watching a team play like utter horse#### only to prevail.
Tottenham getting robbed of CL football is no consolation whatsoever.

JT putting on a kit was probably also the most embarrassing thing I have ever seen, what a disgrace, the fact that he lifted the trophy with Lampard too, such an arrogant prick
Scholes and Keane had the same situation and refused to go celebrate with the players when they were asked too, they both kept their suits on and acted with class
Terry is going to be telling the story of how he won the CL one day and this is what he will see in his head when he talks of how the game was tied
