That certainly helps explain why it was Gomes up and not Cooper. Gomes to 3B, Edwin to 1st likely.

Because this way he just misses last night and 3 against the less then stellar Mets instead of 2 Vs the Rangers and 2 vs the Rays

I'm not sure about no team will be taking him. Every sport has GM's who lick their chops at taking chances on players like him, hoping to turn their careers around. I'm quite surprised AA wasn't able to deal him for a pick though.

The guy is lazy, and that's not changing anytime soon, so even if he does break out again in another organization, at least we can all sleep well knowing he was a loafter on this team.

How exactly would he deal him for a pick?

Not quite sure I understand your question. Basically, what I was saying was his trade value was so low he would probably have to take on a contract in order to get something for him. So I was wondering why he didn't settle for a draft pick given he's proven what he can do from his 2009 season. That's all.

The Marlins might. Maybe another NL team hoping he can rebound.

Marlins don't make any sense to me, just people trying to put 2 and 2 together. I don't think any team wants to pick up that contract, for a player as bad as Adam Lind. We will see on Wednesday if any team did.

I dont think teams can trade draft picks in the MLB.Maybe someone who knows more about the MLB has more info on this.

I like the idea of getting something for him, but as mentioned, no trading draft picks in the MLB. Draft picks used to be sacrificed when signing certain typed of free agents, but that's changed now too.

would've liked to see something like Lind for G. Sanchez from florida......both struggling first baseman, would've probably had to add a bit but a new environment could help both players

If someone claims him we do get something. We save 5 mil + 3.5 mil buyout!

Lind isn't a struggling first baseman, he's not a good first baseman. I don't see any team claiming him, let alone giving up anything of value, especially while taking on his contract.

"Contrary to a series of online reports last week, as of Wednesday there were no indications that the Blue Jays placed veteran first baseman Adam Lind on outright waivers.

Reports surfaced on May 18 that Lind had been placed on irrevocable waivers one day after being optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas. However, a baseball source on Wednesday said there is no evidence of that happening.

If Lind had been outrighted, he would have been removed from the 40-man roster after a 48-hour period, but a second source confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that the 28-year-old was still on the club's official list."
