Syncing Mac Outlook 2011 calendar with Google Calendar?

Apparently Mac Outlook 2011 doesn't support this, which seems asinine to me in this day. It seems others have been griping about his.

My low-cost, low-tech solution has been to print off weekly calendars from Outlook and stick them on my fridge/carry them around in my bag--but this is BS and really not working for me anymore.

Anyone know of a techno-dummy way to sync the calendars so I can access my appointment schedule on my phone(android)/laptop?

Not to be dink, but it works pretty seamlessly with iCal. Any reason why you have to use Outlook?

The issue is that iCal supports CalDAV and EWS (Exchange Web Services) for syncing, Outlook supports EWS, and iOS devices use ActiveSync. Google does CalDAV and ActiveSync, making Outlook 2011 the one with the missing protocol (depending on who you talk to of course - the stated goal of the Outlook 2011 team was to make it a first class Exchange client, not a universal email/calendar/contact syncing thing).

Long story short, there is no easy solution using those pieces that I'm aware of.

I've been using Outlook for more than a decade and am very comfortable with it, but that's the only reason. I'll look into iCal.
