I like the Neville appointment, he's very smart tactically and all the players seem to like him
you need that type of guy in the room

I think whats more important is that the standards for English fans have been lowered. They're not going into this tournament expecting to win it but rather just put in a good performance.
They should get out of the group stage but everything beyond that is gravy.

I dunno Locke, that isn't the easiest of groups. France are decent and while the Swedes aren't in scintillating form, they've only lost to England once since 1968. They always play the 3 Lions hard.

Yes, I fully expect England to find another spectacular way of getting eliminated.

expectations are low, but if/when England get out of the group this will happen in the media, and then it will go to penalties and England won't score once
Spain... "all ready beat them before"
Italy... "can't score no problem"
Croatia... "dominated them in WC qualifying"
Ireland... "lols"

BREAKING NEWS: England are set to leave out Rio Ferdinand from their Euro 2012squad, while Kyle Walker has been ruled out with a toe injury.

Likely means JT is in
Walker's a big blow, I hope and pray it's Micah Richards or Phil Jones starting at RB and not Glen Johnson

it makes sense
none of the young guys have proven anything in the league this year outside of Walker/Jones/Hart/Welbeck
Cleverly has been injured, Rodwell is nowhere near where he is supposed to be, Oxlade-Chamberlain didn't play enough, Smalling is injured
now if Lampard, Gerrard, Terry etc. are starting when qualifying begins in September that's one thing, but for this tournament they do offer the best chance

That doesnt strike me as much of a chance. Depending on their level of ambition.

However, it appears the United veteran will not be adding to his 81 caps any time soon, with Hodgson opting for Chelsea skipper John Terry instead.
When asked, after United's friendly against an Irish League XI on Tuesday, whether the rumours he had been left out were true, Ferdinand confirmed that he would not be going to the European Championship.

Very surprised no Jagielka. Peter Crouch too. He's a great player off the bench. Not to mention Micah Richards.
