This is so 2000's Blizzard... I buy Battlefield 3, it downloads in minutes while saturating my 100Mbit connection, done.
In this day of inexpensive bandwidth and CDNs, Blizzard is just being cheap.

Downloaded mine in less than couple hours last night no problem, could have actually been much less since the first time I checked it, it had already completed. I didn't have any issues with the Open Beta Weekend either, when people were having massive problems.
Guess I am just lucky.
Just a note, for all those who are still downloading: Don't close the downloader until the "Install Client" button pops up. Apparently it sits at 100% for a bit, saying finished, but if you close it at that point there is an error that is showing up when people are trying to install.

Yeah the beta was fine for me too.. just random on which group of seeds you hit probably.
I guess I shouldn't worry, it's not like I'll be up playing at 1am tonight anyway.

I did what it said there, unchecked automatically detect settings, and the instant I hit ok my loader kicked into high gear. I am now at 11.1MB/s.
Bizarre.
EDIT: In the time it took to post it passed the playable mark to 33% done. MUCH better.

HOLY FATA PHOTON!!!!!
Thank you so much for that. Usually I would hit the button, but wow.
I had forwarded ports etc didn't do crap (although I did finally remember that my router config PW is the same as the network pass, which is a plus).
Worse yet I didn't realize my torrent was set to the same download folder, so my 2GB start from last night got corrupted and I just had to restart from zero.
Thankfully I unchecked the LAN setting and was at 1.5 MBPS before I could even alt tab back to the client. I even had a look at that on the client support page last night but figured it must have been the ports. Judging by the amount of people I am connected to though the port forwarding has definitely helped too.
Thank you thank you. I would have been so pissed had I not been playing this at 1 AM.

I honestly didn't think I would be this pumped up for this release.
I am actually starting to twitch a little bit I think. Just booked a couple days off for the last part of the week to accommodate. Been a long time since I have done something like that.
Lucky I only have 2 hours left in my day, because my productivity has gone way down.

Last time I booked a day off work to play a game was when Cataclysm came out. It paid off though, as myself and the 4 other I played with all got server first 85 for our respective classes.
I'm debating whether I want to play all night, or just get a good sleep and start super early in the morning. /firstworldproblems
Either way, I'm freakin' pumped!

Game is all downloaded (a month ago) and I just installed it. Battle.net goes online and my life will end.
I posted it before, but does anyone want to play tonight? I think the game only holds 4 people now, not 8 ( ).
It'd be cool to play with CP'ers rather than random's, also we should try to use all different classes (if people actually play with me haha).

I just went to Futureshop and asked if they'd have many copies in-stock for the midnight release and they were very secretive about it. I'm not sure why they couldn't say "Yeah we have plenty". I wasn't asking for an exact count. Anyways, they did say they are saving some stock for the regular opening time just for those that want to go at 9:00am. While I was talking to the fellow the old lady manager walked out with a copy and was walking around like she was the king of the castle.

My buddy said the same thing, secretive with numbers. He also called it special edition and got scoffed at by the employee, "It's collectors edition actually"...
If the chat system is anything like SC2, anyone could create a chat group, say "CPuck" for people to drop in and play.

What the heck, you didn't nail her with a couple arcane orbs and take that copy?
Rookie...
