I don't care how many points Rattie puts up, I really don't like that guy. He's too soft and weak. He'll probably end up becoming the next Kyle Wellwood - lots of skill and super soft.

Just tuned in for the last couple of minutes...game is in greaservillle right? Saw a world class mullet...dude was channeling Kenny Powers...in the crowd.

Wellwood was soft and small. Rattle isn't a monster or overly physical but does have enough size that the Wellwood comparison doesn't fit.
Not saying he will be awesome but he has shown a lot in his WHL career that if people are excited about Baertschi should at least acknowl edge that Rattie has some upside/excitement as well.

Did not return. Rattie hit the boards hard...kinda top of the shoulders, back of his head. Did not look good going off the ice at all.

Johnston said much of keeping Rattie off the ice was precautionary. Looks like they will re-evaluate tomorrow. He didn't seem worried, but I don't know.

Alright, so Wellwood is two inches shorter and about 20 pounds heavier.
I think my point still remains.
In Wellwood's final WHL season, he put up 100 points in the season (yes, slightly less than Rattie) and had a 2.0 PPG in the playoffs.
Playing style-wise, I see similarities to Kyle Wellwood. Both soft. Both weak. Sorry, I just have a thing against weak, soft players.
Yes, his WHL career has been pretty exciting, but IMO Baertschi's game is FAR more complete than Rattie's.

Ty is a player that given the right situation will be a great offensive player and powerplay specialist for a team that lets him be...well him.
A team that would try him out on the third line to start and drill defense first hockey into his head would probably not get the best out of him.
Of course as we know he was taken 32nd overall at last years entry draft by St. Louis....and I think St. Louis is a great fit for him and he will do well....as he would do well playing for Pittsbrough, Chicago, Edmonton, Detroit, Vancouver or teams of that ilk.
However if he was playing in a Hitchock, Sutter or similar system to that....he would likely be a healthy scratch and bouncing to and from the minors.
His scenario is truly a scenario of succeeding by being put into the right situation for him.

How wouid St.Louis be a great fit if in the next sentence you say playing for Hitchcock he would likely be a healthy scratch?
