Had to bump this thread - this is a track from Ahmad Ali Lewis, who used to be one half of the group 4th Avenue Jones (the other half was his wife Tena Jones, band broke up when they divorced) which was one of my favourite groups a decade ago. This track is from the 2010 solo album he released, if you like this track do yourself a favour and go get the album, one of the best underground hip hop albums I've heard in a long while.

Now I'm on a roll so I'll keep going - this is a track from the debut (and still only) album from an emcee named Splash out of North Carolina which dropped back in 2005. The whole album features 9th Wonder on the boards, which in itself makes it very odd this disc is so rare. I also find it odd this guy hasn't dropped another album as I think he's a bloody awesome emcee. Apparently he has been focusing on producing the last few years...a true shame.
Edit: And if you think you recognize that awesome female emcee on this track, its the one and only Jean Grae.

What the heck happened to Busta Rhymes? From Leaders of the new school and A Tribe Called Quest to Chris Brown...makes no sense:
I wasn't alive when they where popular but i appreciate good music when i hear it.
Speaking of leaders of the new school.
Quote:
Busta Rhymes is headlining the eight annual Brooklyn Hip-Hop Festival this weekend (July 14) in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Billed as "Busta Rhymes & Friends," the veteran emcee took to Twitter on Tuesday (July 10) to allude to a potential reunion with his former group, Leaders Of The New School. Busta said "stay tuned" and included a recent photograph of him pictured with L.O.N.S. cohorts Charlie Brown and Dinco D.
Brooklyn Bodega, organizers of the festival, acknowledged the tweet# to HipHopDX as a potential allusion to the weekend show, but could not confirm or deny its validity.

The Leaders Of The New School, which also included fourth member Cut Monitor Milo, released two albums, 1991's A Future Without A Past and 1993's T.I.M.E. The group was also part of the Native Tongues collective, including A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul and Jungle Brothers.
After Busta Rhymes pursued a solo career in the mid-1990s, the Leaders disbanded, after appearing on his 1995 debut The Coming.
I gotta give some love to the man that was really behind N.W.A.

it's really a shame he had to go through that windshield. IMO he would easily be considered the greatest of all time had he not damaged his vocal cords. He was the total package.
