Somehow I don't think shaving a horseshoe on purpose in China is necessarily a bad thing . . . I think bald men are more revered there anyways lol . . .
Hmmm... maybe. I've never noticed them being more revered, but there is definitely a different attitude towards baldness here. Anyways, half the fun in it was surprising my room mate, my wife (then girlfriend) and other friends. I would occasionally wear a hat, so I went out with them and after hanging out for a good while and talking like everything was normal I would wait for an opportune moment to casually remove the hat and take in the expression and reactions. Great stuff.

I have cut my own hair for over 5 years so I don't fall prey to the dreaded hairstyist curve of doom (the point of no return).
I'm pretty happy with it, I can change where I part my hair to change the overall style quite easily so I am not stuck with one thing but I'm not too concerned or vain with it anyway.
I've been doing #1 for 12 years now. I cut every two weeks. I thought I would do it for a while just for the change, and I quickly realized how easy it was to manage, and how much money I was saving by cutting my own hair that I kept it up. I once grew my hair back in 2003 for about four months, but I quickly remembered what a hassle it was to book appointments and how much it cost so I went back to #1.
I'm probably getting a foot cut off my hair tomorrow and it will still be longer than most posters here. I can't believe some of you guys can get a #1 or #2. Aren't you cold?
I’m on the balding ship as well – my hair as been in pretty steady decline over the last two years and is now so thin that I’ve got the shine going, especially in my soon to be bald spot.

Yep, I don't use a guard at all and cut once a month. I wear a hood almost all the time if it is cold out.
Small price to pay for not having to deal with the crapfest that having hair is.

If you can grow hair, why the hell would you choose to shave your head or get it buzzed? I've never understood that. I understand many people here are going bald, so that I understand, but if you can grow it, why shave it (sex joke?)?
I shouldn't ever go bald, if looking at my dad and his dad as an example I'll just have a huge widows peak which I'm fine with.
Haven't had to comb or brush my hair in about 20 years.
Love it.

One of the best parts of the haircut is that your face is literally boob level with the hairdresser, and only inches away. God bless hair salons.
Man I miss going to salons...the hottie hairdressers, that scalp massage in the sink...best. Ever since my hair really started thinning I've made the jump to the barbers, just don't want some cute 22-year old blonde fiddling around with my balding head. And really, whats a hot 22-year old girl got that a fat, hairy Lebanese guy doesn't have?
Fought the good fight for years but its finally at a point where its too obvious, gonna shave er (#1) when I'm in the States this weekend. Gonna be quite the jump, I just pray it looks more Jason Statham'ish than Matt Hasselback'ish..
I went pompadour for the last month. I got pretty good at styling it and thought it looked. Got some compliments at work too but my girlfriend hated it so I went back.
