Yes, that's a great argument to make Ronaldo better than Messi. the little Argentinian is miles better, classier player that Ronaldo ever will be.

I am hesitant of crowning Messi one of the best ever until he performs on the international stage.
He has been pretty much given a free pass for his poor international form, even though he plays on one of the traditional powerhouses.
It seems whoever plays with Xavi and Iniesta (whether it be for Barca or Spain) scores at a torrid pace. To me Messi still has to prove that he can lead a team without two of the best midfielders in the world to glory.
It's actually funny since Ronaldo gets blasted for his international performances all the time even though he has had more success on the international stage than Messi, yet people always tend to make excuses for Messi's failures with Argentina.

was I joke but I agree with what's above
until Messi performs for Argentina (or even without possible the greatest midfield ever behind him) he's not up there with Pele, Messi, Best, Zizou etc.

I believe in the Jays.

What a great game so far. It looked like the ball hit a RM hand and the way through the wall on the Robben free kick.

I know the semi-finals are usually always better than the final for the CL, Michael Cox wrote a great article on it last week
but the 90 minutes yesterday and the 45 so far today have been been fantastic

Robben is an embarrassment. Oodles of talent but is one of the single biggest divers I have ever had the misfortune to watch. Disgusting.

I agree with the argument that Messi has to perform at the International stage, without a doubt. But neither Ronaldo or Messi have won a World Cup, yet Messi has won everything the club game has to offer without bringing any of the BS & drama that Ronaldo brings to the game. I'm not denying that Ronaldo is good, he's a great player, but he would be so much better without any of his BS. He has definitely matured since coming to Real and playing for Mourinho but he still has a lot of growing up to do.
As for the game at hand....what a Drogba-like dive from Robben to finish the first half. That's either the second or third Drogba-dive by Robben already. I wonder if the Ivorian teaches a diving school in the off season...the canucks and Robben apparently all go to it.

Pepe had his arm at his side and was turning away from the ball...and looking at it closely it looks like it went off his mid section.

Based on his performance yesterday Alexis Sanchez must have been the top student of the most recent class.

hahaha...Alexis may have embellished a dirty, needless knee to the back...but going down with little to no contact is something players like Drogba and Robben specialize in.

Robben angers me as I quite like Dutch footballers - past and present. His antics make him very hard to like.

Sure it isn't a free for all in the EPL but at least there is some excitement over what will happen other than just is it Barca or Real this year.

You mean the excitement between Manchester United and the latest team to spend the guts of half a billion?
Prior to the oil money teams it was Arsenal and Man United. Liverpool managed 2nd once, and that is it.
I'm a fan of the EPL myself, but I'm not about to cast stones from the comfort of my own greenhouse as others are doing on this thread.

Since the inception of the Premier league there have been four clubs that have won the title. Over the same period five different clubs have won La Liga.
With the massive debt loads that many major European football clubs are carrying and the way they spend money, I'm not convinced that fans of any major European league can make the claim that one league is better, fairer or more balanced than any other.
