Still not happy about the Ramires and Ivanovic cards. Not sure what Ramires did for his but Ivanovic got it for kicking the penalty spot before the penalty.

Is that a typical card?

Can those yellows be overturned so they are eligible for the final?

To me it seems like he shouldn't have been up there in the first place. He should have hustled to get back to help defend.

True, but it paid off though!

No, the cards can't be overturned. A lot of the times Refs will give out yellows depending on players reactions to calls. Like a ball getting kicked out of anger or a player's insult to a ref. I don't know what Ivanovic might have yelled at the ref but a simple warning should have been sufficient. I think the yellow in that case might have been a bit harsh.

They are a great team playing in Scotland south

I don't think anyone knows how good they really are because of their league (that includes league cups), and the fact that one of their CL victories is extremely tainted because of the reffing vs Chelsea a few years ago

It will also be interesting to see what Pep does at another team, he inherited most of the players and the system they play in. Without Xavi and Iniesta in midfield I wonder how much success he has

I think he's a great tactician, but we won't know for sure until he does it somewhere else

Are you serious? So what? 13 trophies out of a possible 16? 11 or 12 of those are Spanish domestic trophies, in a league where one of two teams was going to win it what value do they have?

Barca's 'greatness' is largely trumped up because they play in a very, very weak league.

So according to you the English league is much stronger? That's why you have a 2 horse race to the final (Man U with 83 Man City with 80 and Arsenal following a close third with 65 points)

The strength of the English league is in its depth, that's the whole point of the argument. Teams like Stoke, Everton, etc are quality teams and are capable of beating a top team if they are slightly off their game. Teams like Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool all have plenty of money and good recruitment and could easily be challenging for titles in the near future.

I'm not taking anything away from how good Real Madrid and Barcelona are, but they don't face anywhere near the competition that Man U and Man C do week in and week out. You don't have to look any further then the cup competitions to see that, as neither team even made it to a final.

I'm pumped for the match today! Should be a good one. Bayern is finally healthy again and have been in decent form lately. Unfortunately, I can't watch it again. Munich is hosting the final. That should be the extra motivation the boys need. Go Bayern!

So what if 11 are domestic trophies, there were only 4 possible European trophies to be won in that time, and they won 2 of them!

As for Scotland South jibes, Diane, try comparing the amount of teams from the EPL and LL in the latter stages of the two European tournaments. There is strength in depth in LL, it is just that Barca and RM collectively would make up a strong duopoly in any of the major European leagues.

Is there any league in Europe that seems to care about Europa as much as the Spanish clubs?

I can only go on what I see from the English clubs and saying that the Spanish clubs went farther than Tottenhams C squad and 18 year olds isn't exactly evidence that those teams are strong.

It is the only measure you can go on. The Scotland South jibes are ridiculous coming from supporters of a League that no team other than Manchester United or a team financially doped with oil money can win.

Good call on the penalty, obvious hand ball. Great counter attack from Bayern there to almost tie it up.

Since the last time that Barcelona and Real Madrid didn't finish 1-2 the Premier League has had 5 different teams finish in the top 2. Sure only Chelsea and Manchester United have won but it shows a lot more competition than just those two teams. Only two of those 5 are doped with Oil money.

Sure it isn't a free for all in the EPL but at least there is some excitement over what will happen other than just is it Barca or Real this year.

2 nil for Real. Great play to set up Ronaldo's second. (3-2 aggregate lead by Real)

I read yesterday that Messi has missed 8 of his 33 penalties for Barcelona

Robben ties this one on Agg 3-3 on a penalty kick. Should Pepe have been sent off?
