Default SlingBox Question

Bit of a special case, and wondering if I can get some help here.

We have a special case at work where we have a central Sonicwall that hands out 10.xxx.xxx.xxx addresses, and another Sonicwall that obtains a 10.xxx.xxx.xxx address from the original Sonicwall, and then hands out 192.xxx.xxx.xxx addresses. Don't ask why.

The Slingbox is located behind the 2nd Sonicwall, and is assigned a 192.168.200.110 address. When I'm on a computer with an address in the 192 subnet, everything works fine.

Question is, I'm usually on a computer that obtains an IP from the 1st Sonicwall, IP is 10.4.23.222 and I'm wondering how I go about setting it up so that I can watch the Slingbox without having to be on the same 192.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet as the Sonicwall is on.

The IP of the 2nd Sonicwall is 10.4.23.110, so I forwarded port 5001 for both TCP and UDP on that Sonicwall. I setup the Slingbox while I was on the 192.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet, and everything works fine, but when I go to the 10.xxx.xxx.xxx subnet, and try to connect to the SlingBox is says connection failed.

My thinking is that it is trying to connect to that Slingbox through the internet when I try to watch it on the 10. subnet, and that is blocked on our network.

How do I make it so that it connects to properly? I'm a bit lost here.

Glad you figured that one out. If Slingbox hadn't stepped up with the solution another option would be to create a NAT policy on your internet-facing Sonicwall. The effect of the NAT policy would be to loop back the traffic to the 2nd Sonicwall and thus the Slingbox.

Yeah, my problem was that they basically use 'auto-configure' features for everything, and you can't manually input settings for the most part.

Using that desktop software, I was able to input manual settings, and actually create a 2nd slingbox in my directory that is used just on the LAN. Now I can connect to it from anywhere on our internal network.

Ahh. Sorry, assumed you had admin access to the Sonicwalls
