Well, at the very least, most of us are very likely poor actors.
And I'm not sure what is so offensive about a bit of fear mongering at election time. Its seems pretty par for the course for all parties. Unless everyone has forgotten that "the same people that caused the Liberal Party of Canada to be in power for 13 uninterrupted years ... want nothing more than to see the Redford PCs re-elected to impose their big government-knows-best, ivory tower views on all of us."

Is that a direct quote from Cory Morgan's blog? or have I lost my mind?

The undecided voters split shouldn't be too important. Most of them aren't likely to vote if they are undecided.
"Among Undecided Voters – Party Leaning Towards
Alison Redford’s Progressive Conservative Party of Alberta
20%
Danielle Smith’s Wildrose Party
14% "
True. Although I imagine that the WRP will have a difficult time getting the conservative base out, considering they all work two full-time jobs to pay all those taxes for the government to just piss away, leaving little time for decadent hobbies like voting. On the other hand, the liberal base just needs to take a short break from sipping lattes/sitting on the couch/hitting the bong/cashing government cheques in order to cast their ballots.

Man I've been working/paying taxes in this province for YEARS and I've yet to get my government issued six shooter. When are those issued again? Is it the 10 year mark?

I don't think people appreciate how hard it is to simultaneously do all those things. Liberals deserve more credit for the hard work they must do!

For about the first 20 seconds, you think this might actually be a good strategy to get people to strategically vote but then it gets stupid... real stupid.
I think it's a fun way to deliver a serious (for some people) message. Amateur? absolutely. But nothing wrong with a little humour (intended or not).
I'm also pretty sure it's not targeted at old guys like me.
The last two PC leaders are courtesy of PC-for-a-day strategic voters, in my opinion. I also think Nenshi's victory was equal parts Nenshi-wave and anyone-but-McIvor strategic voting.
When the two main choices are relatively close to each other I think strategic voting absolutely can have an effect.
Ok, again then whats offensive about this? Otherwise I'm going to have to watch the video...c'mon help a brother out!
They making it sound like voting for PC's is repugnant. How many Albertans over the last 40 plus years have voted for them? And voting for the Wildrose would be even worse.
Then there's the jabs that could apply to just about any Albertan.
You'd hate to see what they would put out if a truly socially conservative party existed!!
I think this kind of ad will only solidify support for the wild rose and may even push some regular PC voter's over to that side as well. It's certainly insulting to traditional PC voters.
I had some respect for Sherman, because he was willing to take on the PC's when he saw something wasn't right. But I guess he's read the Dion/Martin/Ignatieff playbook and failed to realize that people are smarter then that and punished them for it.
Its pretty sad when you think that by the thinnest of margins the WRA has run the lesser fear based campaign.
The PC's with the whole wind back the clocks on Civil rights there will be a blood letting if the WRA wins, and the above stupid twitter post above are insane.
Anyone that thinks that when your in a position of authority that you should get a Twitter account is a moron.

Like you'd take a short break from that,I'd go vote but that twinkie looks sooooooo amazing.
Look man, my haanddss are huuuge!

I'm not saying he didn't work for it, but lets be rational. That was strategic voting all the way and a pure "anyone but Lowther" campaign. I would actually suggest that Hinman winning in Glenmore in the byelection is another good example where people wanted to "send Ed a message" just like his signs said.
You can point to examples where strategic voting doesn't work, but there are definitely cases where it does as well. Thats the glory and stupidity of FPTP all wrapped in one IMO.

Am I a bad person because half way through I was so annoyed at wasting my time that I wanted to hunt down each person in the add and smack them in the whining sniviling faces.
Absolutely ######ed, and the whole thing smacks of a PC plant ad.
