Did you tent in the mountains at all? I'm mostly worried about the temperature.
And if we're on the dad to dad advice topic, what did you do about the kid and a fire being present?
I guess if you are going every weekend you'd want a camper. That said, if its only a few times a year, it seems like a lot of hassle, not to mention the cash.
Temps were never a worry, wind was. Waterton in a 90km wind storm was actually pretty fun. We used a windsurfing mast inside the tent to keep it up. I also lashed a lot of the tie points up high to strong branches and the car. Made it just fine and a lot of campers were driving home early after that one.
As for the fire, say "no-touch" they learn pretty fast.

I might have to sell my awful Cobalt to get that new Fusion. I've seen it before, but the thing is just fantastic looking.
The one bad part is, like mentioned, you can barely see out of the thing. That's why I hate the new Camaro and Challenger, you have about 3 inches of visibility out the front window, its terrible.

Who cares about the visibility, if you want a practical vehicle you're not ever going to consider a pony car anyway.
The Camaro is an amazing looking vehicle and fast as hell. Sure it's like peeking out of a giant bathtub, but one looks the other way on minor details like that when you remember what you are getting under the hood. Plus that's something a driver can get used to over time.

Have you driven the Challenger? The rear visibility is an issue, but I'd hardly consider the front visibility to be bad. For a car, anyways.
Ask and you shall receive. I give you the Ford Evos concept.
The next-gen Mustang will ditch the retro and be more of a global design.... and will apparently look very close to the Evos (with a few classic Mustang cues of course).

Personally, I consider visibility more than just a minor detail, and have more than once passed over cars because of it. If I can't see my surroundings, I'm not comfortable driving the car.
I think the Camaro would look better if it slimmed down a bit visually and had a bigger greenhouse. Same goes with the Challenger and Mustang though....
The Camaro feels very chlosterphobic inside...I would never want one for that reason. I don't find that with the Challenger or Mustang like that at all. Glad to hear Ford is taking the Mustang in a new direction if that turns out to be true. The S197 was great when it came out in 2005, but as a Mustang fan I'm ready for something new.

The Camaro and Challenger have their issues, but you basically make those sacrifices for the power. Personally I'm not a fan of either of them because they feel incredibly cheap.
I've driven a Ford Edge and I was not impressed with the visibility at all. The rear window is decorative.

If you thought this season would have a happy ending, you haven't been paying attention.
I think we have about 4-5 random general car threads going. We should just sticky one to the top...or hell, create a subsection like the tech guys have.

Disagree, I firmly believe in the random chaos. If people want information about cars they should be forced to guess which thread that information is in. It'll keep the board interesting during the long, slow days of summer.
