And it's still far to early to be overly concerned but coming off that injury and getting up there a little bit in age, have to wonder. That being said, I'm not sure you can lose that eye at the plate and the patience he has, so I expect him to get it going a little more then this slump he's in right now

Lester at 65 pitches. Romero at 47after 4. Jays at least making Lester work today.

Lawrie looks like he was safe at 1st and then makes an amazing play at 3rd base and it's a 1-2-3 inning. Remember when people were wooried he couldn't play 3rd base?

7 pitch inning. That is how you go deep into games.

Lawrie gets burned by the ump on what should have been an infield single and then makes an awesome defensive play at 3rd. The guy is a stud.

Lawrie still does not have an extra base hit this year, but his hustle and heart alone have carried him

Would be a huge boost for the Jays to come back after such a crushing 9th inning loss in the first game and win the series.

It really would be although I think the loss was more crushing to the fans then anyone else. This team does not lack confidence

Really ugly start to the season for JP. His K rate is over 50%

Ya he has been awful at the plate. His defense and game calling has been solid though.

Really good sign today. Wednesday afternoon game in Toronto and attendance is strong again. And it's not just Sox fans overflow at all. Will be interesting to see the official number

I was just thinking the same. 11 K's in 21 AB's, unbelievable.

It is really amazing at how fast Lawrie can get down the line... Last night I had to watch him beat out that infield single at least four times. Guy is all heart, and you can tell it is wearing off on a few of them. Last night, they panned in on Lind and he was yawning on the bench, next half inning, Lawrie is in his ear, and Lind is laughing. You can just feel the difference he makes with the mentality of the club.

His game calling has been great and I think it goes a really long way having him behind the plate with these young pitchers that have come up with him and know him. Not sure how easy it was to tell on TV last night, but he talked to Drabek a ton on the mound and really seemed to calm him down.

Ya, I'm not overly concerned, way more concerned with the bullpen and Beckett's thumb... But his batting stance alone seems to make him more prone to injury. Sure hope he can turn it around for the next series.

Especially someone like Lind, who needs it. I'm not to big on overvaluing intangibles, but even listening to Lind's interview last night, he's just a different type of guy. I'd imagine it's easy to get that way playing in Toronto in previous seasons to. Lawrie makes an impact and like I said, he's yet to really find his bat and hit for an extra basehit, but his hustle alone has got him on base and helped out in the field

Another short inning for Romero. 63 pitches through 6 innings of work.

Top of the order for the Jays. Come on boys, put a couple runs on the board.
