It is hilarious that you seem to have no problem with the idea of telling voters to choose candidates based on skin colour after spending a lot of time championing the idea that the PCs are the only natural governing party available because they have "experience".
Lets face the truth here, Slava. You don't have an issue with this because it was spoken by a fellow partisan on your side. If someone representing Wildrose said this about another party, you would be jumping down their throats.

Yes you do.
For one thing, the evidence you provide will help answer the question of whether you actually understand what the word "corruption" means.

Accepting campaign contributions on the assumption that you will provide a favor later on isn't corruption? Obviously the proof of any Wildrose corruption won't conveniently come to light after they are already in office. Thats the beauty of accepting contributions rather than bribes. You need money to get elected, no doubt (as evidence by the 100s of PC and Wildrose ads....and zero for NDP/Liberal).
I'm sorry but politicians aren't some noble bunch doing something great for society. If we had term limits and no after position perks, politics would be a more noble calling. Why is it something most people think is boring (the political process) so appealing to some people? I've never seen a politician go poor interestingly enough...

Look, you and I can debate and argue and maybe never agree. You might not like me, and I'm sure you wouldn't be alone in that. You know damn well I never suggested people should do anything based on skin colour, much less vote that way.
I didn't condone this at all, and I'm not the one who posted it. He said he was disappointed and I asked what he meant by that.
I don't appreciate your insinuating that I would advocate racist or bigoted behavior though. Thats way past the line IMO.

Interesting though that the party you have been campaigning for in this thread is advocating racist or bigoted behavour.
I certainly don't 'not like' you, Slava. I actually respect you. But man, I am not buying your feigned confusion as to what Goon found "disappointing" in a comment where he specifically notes the PCs played the race card. You are just far too smart for that. But faking confusion allowed you to take another potshot while ignoring the actual statement.

I'm not advocating any racist or bigoted behaviour and absolutely don't condone it. I don't care whether you think it was feigned confusion, because the facts speak for themselves. Bottom line to me is that you took the opportunity to take a shot at me personally as a racist or somehow advocating that people should vote on skin colour. Like I said before though, you know damn well that never happened, and should know well enough that I would never advocate that.
It's one thing to take shots at the Liberals or whatever policy, and I get that. It's a whole other issue to argue that I'm pushing that kind of agenda though; its uncalled for and offensive. If you want to make fun of me based on policies I support, or parties, fair enough. You want to gloat after my party loses, fine. But calling my character and morals out is not something I'll sit by and watch.

Fair enough. It was not my intent to insinuate such an opinion as strongly as you believe I did. That is the fault of my poor word choice, and I apologize.
I am glad to know that you do not condone such behaviour, and I hope that all reasonable people will feel the same about the PC's resorting to such deplorable tactics.

The PCs going to the race card is sadly predictable. I'm guessing if they also didn't have a woman running at the front they would be attacking Danielle Smith on that one too. I only expect the mudslinging by the PCs to get worse if Redford falters in the debate.

Is the deplorable racism and bigotry being alluded to the old white guy from the PC's making the (dumbass) comment that the WRP was made up almost completely of old white men?
Wow...people need to inhale...you make it sound like the guy burned a cross

We live in West Hillhurst, we have had exactly 0 phone calls, pamphlets in the mail, or door knockers. My wife is home nearly all day and is astounded by the silence.

I would assume that the closer the race, the more calls that specific district will get. Why waste time on districts you'll likely lose?

No, but its petty and desperate and frankly quite weak. Not something I'm looking for in a government.

West Hillhurst is Calgary Mtn View...it's Liberal Swann's riding. I'd think the WRA would pounce on the oppurtunity for "change" and make a push in the riding. But to not hear ANYTHING nearly 3 weeks into the election is ridiculous. If anything the Liberals should be plowing $$ + people into the riding to make sure they dont lose.

Perhaps they feel its a comfortable seat so why not spend the resources elsewhere? Of course assuming any riding is safe is never a good idea.

I was out door knocking with a local candidate last night and several of the residents commented that this was the first time a candidate had ever come to their door to introduce themselves. It may just be niceties, but several voters indicated that they were voting for us solely because they have met the candidate.

Ha - all those numbers are familiar and we've probably had the same amount of calls. I always thought it would be cool to live in a swing riding. Not any more.

Odd, I also live in Mountain View and have been getting a lot of calls, mostly Wildrose (or, at least, they're the only ones whose robots leave messages).

NO. I've run three times (others on this forum have as well). Not ever has this even crossed my mind.

We have regular elections. Being elected is probably the most insecure position to ever have.

Because they do care. Because it is way more than the "process".

Huh, I'm down in Sunnyside (same riding) and we're getting two or three robocalls a day. No pamphlets or door-knockers though.
