Need some Ipad help
Hey guys,
I'm currently travelling and I want to put some new movies on my Ipad (to play with cinex app). However I just want to use a pc to quickly add stuff via i tunes to my Ipad. I dont want to permanently 'link' any of these pcs to my itunes or ipad. I also do not want to risk syncing fully and losing all my music files because they arent prsent on the temorary pc's.
Is there any way I can just add the stuff i want?
(love my ipad but its a big pain in the arse for stuff like this)

Get AVPlayer HD. Its 2.99 or something. Allows you to drag and drop through the file sharing portion on the Apps screen. Can play ANY video format, doesn't need conversion nor for the video to be added to iTunes. Can also transfer over WiFi

Nope I have done it on a second iTunes library, just hit cancel on sync (If it says Apply changes hit no, just go to App page and at the bottom there'll be a box) and make sure its not set to automatically sync. You can also do it over Wifi if you want, instead of through iTunes

Yup, basically what you want to do... drag and drop a file from one hard drive (PC) to the other (tablet), can't be done. You have to go through iTunes.
Even after you do this drag-and-drop through iTunes, it syncs.
Stupid Apple.

Negative, it does not. Unless my green text radar is off today.

That would be the worst sarcastic post ever, I haven't used my iPad for this in a while and wasn't familiar with that program, I'll check it out. Every other program I've used to avoid using the native movie player has had to sync.

As long as Automatically Sync isn't enabled, and you hit cancel when it asks to Apply settings, it shouldn't sync. AVPlayer HD also offers the ability to create a web server to do a wifi upload, which bypasses iTunes completely. It's a pretty stellar app. I should say though, using the non wifi method (iTunes) it should work with ALL apps that use the App screen file sharing window.
If you have any problems i can post a video of using it on a second mac (the non synced Library)

Exactly what I was looking for. Just gave it a quick test run and it's very easy to use (FTP or HTTP) and over wifi it's pretty quick. Took about 10min for a 1.4GB movie. One thing I learned is you need to keep the program open while transferring you can't go and do other things else it messes things up.
Do they have something like this (FTP) that would work for music? Or is iTunes the best bet?
