After that brutal base running error by Davis I figured the Jays had missed their chance, but man what a wicked home run by Arencibia.

Go Jays!

Maybe if there isn't enough activity for a separate game thread for every game we could just have one ongoing game thread in order to keep this thread a bit cleaner and easier to follow.

You guys should do 'series' threads..

game threads might be over doing it.

Super annoying....I PVR'd this one because I was at work, but got a TSN text message that the Jays won the longest opening game in MLB history.

Sigh.

Nice to steal a game they really had no business winning. Games like these can be the difference between making and missing the playoffs.

I don't know if this type of player is available out there, but I'd love to get it if possible.
No we are not overlooking Gose's abilities. He's a top prospect and still incredibly young. His ceiling with a little stronger bat is a 5 tool All Star. He is a "super prospect"

Also you need to realize how incredibly tough it is to get a super prospect. That's far to big of a blanket statement, of course every team in MLB would love to get a top prospect. That's why the Jays keep drafting and filling that farm team up with them!

You can look at it both ways, I'd say they deserved it more then Cleveland did after all was said and done. The Indians managed to score in one out of sixteen innings, no team that does that deserves to win.

What a game and great start to the season. Romero had one bad inning and that was it,, like how he settled down and didn't let the game get out of hand.

Rasmus actually hit the ball hard a few times, it's amazing how idiotic some fans are in making him the whipping boy when he's had such few AB's with this team and especially on a day like today when he makes a catch of the year candidate play.

That Bautista contract sure looks bad now....

Bullpen was great and perfect scenario to have an off day tomorrow. Very excited to see Morrow on Saturday. First game of the season I'm going to this year will be the Wednesday afternoon game and Romero should be on the mound.

I don't think anyone is making Rasmus the whipping boy. If he struggled for a couple of months then maybe we will revisit that topic. Undefeated teams don't have whipping boys!

The entire offseason and spring training a lot of "casual" fans have done just that. It's been a discussion on the local radio about how goofy it is, but there are a number of Rasmus haters out there.

Also, forgot how big Lawrie's lead off walk was in the 16th.

Who is the female singer of "I am coming home..." on Sportsnet commercial for the Jays home opener? Sounds familiar and very cool commercial to boot...

Is it just me or does it looks like Greg Zaun is on steroids?

A profound life story of the man. Bautista is a very grounded person despite his success and fame. He has never forgotten his roots and he is very proud of his upbringing and culture in the Dominican. He exemplifies all that is good and expected of as a role model and an athlete. As a result, he is a well-respected leader in the clubhouse. Most of all he is grateful and humbled by the experience of learning the game from his mentors and living in Canada. A wonderful perspective from a great athlete.

as noted yesterday, this team has always had this kind of attitude but never had the supporting cast capable of pulling it off. obviously that changes this year. 2 great back2back "come from behind" wins from the Blue Birds!
