Wasn't it 3 HR on JP's opening day. 1st one was in Aug of 2010, I think.

We already have a super prospect for center. We need someone to play for right now. I actually like Rasmus and am willing to give him some time.

Now Santos is coming out with one out...almost wonder if Santos wasn't properly ready to start the 9th.

Gose is looking really good, but I think we're overestimating his abilities. He's certainly a fast guy, with probably a good average, but I'm thinking along the lines of a "super prospect" like the deal they made for Lawrie or a future Tim Lincecum. I don't know if this type of player is available out there, but I'd love to get it if possible.

That was quite a game. JP Arencibia was clutch. Santos looks good. Jays come from behind to have the longest game in history of season openers. The team certainly has chemistry-players are having fun. Farrell was making great strategic decisions. The bullpen was great esp Perez. Wow, that was a fun opening day.

That was fun, felt like that game had a bit of everything, the comeback, the 5 man infield, vizquel looking like the jays fielded a coach, the benches clearing and the bomb to win it.

I agree, Vizquel was signed for different reasons-not just an experienced player but to help the young team keep their poise. Who knows, maybe he will be a future bluejays coach and soon to be a Hall of Famer. I like it.

If the team had a legit closer without the over 25 blown saves or so last year, Farrell could have had a chance to battle for a WC. His coaching style fits the Jays. He is calm but firm; and doesn't fly off the handle like a Guillen. He definitely knows how to use his pitchers well. A fine leader for the young Jays.

we're pushing 150 posts for the game today. Doubt that pace will keep up over the season, but not bad for opening day
Congrats Jays fans

If the Jays continue to play exciting games and have fun winning or losing (hopefully more of the former), I have no doubt they will esp with what AA have put together in his short tenure as GM, this will be a busy thread.

Interesting...not a bad idea since the Jays are expected to do well and they do have lots of young talents. Worth a try and if the Jays keep on winning half way through the season, there will be more interests esp after NHL playoffs.

I cannot believe I sat and watched all sixteen innings of a baseball game....in April. That bomb by JP made the whole thing worth while. Glad they won, it would have felt like the biggest time waster in history otherwise. And yes, i'm drunk.
