I don't think I've seen a thread on this yet.

How long/far did the hockey dream go?

Formally when I was 16 and my parent's refused to pay for registration anymore because I took too many penalties.

In reality though it was a lot earlier than that. After a couple years convinced it was a conspiracy, I had to admit that I was in "House League" for a reason.

Too be honest there was only one thing which kept me from enjoying a lucrative career in the NHL......talent.

My whole life, although I've been on a two year hiatus.

I was 14 and I had a bad back.

I probably would have left hockey anyways at age 16... I wasn't very good.

I am looking to make a comeback if the NHL needs me to break the NHLPA.

I quit in Peewee due to lack of ice time and poor coaching. Made a comeback in second year Midget when they were short of players...and what a comeback it was! We were the Flames of this year. Emerged from obscurity to become All-Ontario finalists before losing a heartbreaker in the final game of the series.

any hope dried up after a knee-on-knee hit during Junior B tryouts as a 16 year old. Tore patella tendon, ACL, MCl and miniscus. Surgeon wanted to amputate due to excessive blood clotting, decided to clean it up and monitor for 6-7 days. Let me keep the leg, but told me I would walk with a limp, and never play again. Was playing Midget within 4.5 months, and finished the year playing Junior C. Never got another shot at 'B', but played 4 years of 'C', and continue to play Industrial League and the odd tourney 18 years later.
Don't know if I would have made it anywhere, but I received a nice report from Central Scouting as a 15 year old, for the OHL draft.

Got up to Peewee as a player, but was sick of the hockey politics so took a 4 year break only to re-emerge as a goalie, but only in the rec-section.

I'm planning to peak at the precise time scab players are needed in the NHL. Hey, I'll play for 1/100th of what most of the players are asking for, and if the price is right...
