Sens Dominate Game 3 to take a commanding 3-0 series lead!
The Sens got 2 goals from their 3rd line, both JVR and Martin Hanzal scored their 1st goal of the playoffs while Eric Staal potted his 3rd of the series. Fleury made 23 saves in the win. Sens look for the sweep tomorrow!

Close game until the 3rd and then the Jackets turned it on and the Stars just couldn't keep up. Clearly my new line combinations didn't work...nor did the strong support from the one fan in the building.

Back to the drawing board for game 4 to see if I can stop the bleeding...

The Caps pull out to a 2-1 series lead after a close game. Richard Park scored the OT winner and dman Fedor Tyutin put up 2 pts in the victory.

Nashville wins another tight one and has a 3-0 lead against the Canucks. You just never know with the sim though, so I think that we'll hope for the best tomorrow.

Tonight we had a balanced effort against the Canucks and won 3-2. We did manage to unload 44 shots but Niemi was strong for Vancouver and really kept them in this one.

Tough OT loss in Game 3. Switched things up a bit, throwing Morrow up on the first line, and they got the tying goal, but we couldn't pull it out in OT. Rinne with his third consecutive 3 GA game isn't good enough in the playoffs so far. Sharp is -3 with no points in 3 games. We need to step up next game if we want to stay in this. OT goal went for video replay. Needless to say, we think they made the wrong call.

Against the Bulldogs, Unknown player actually managed to double his previous production, getting 6 points and +10, while winning 7/10 faceoffs. This brings his impact for the series to 12 points and +21 in THREE GAMES!!! What a load of crap. Looking at their lines, it's not even like they're filling holes in the bottom of the lineup. Unknown player and Unknown player are the top D-pairing for the Admirals. Why do we even keep track of the AHL if this is allowed?

Yeah this is indeed a constant source of frustration. The way the sim slots in players in the AHL means if GMs are diligent in sending in lines this stuff happens. It has always been a very hard thing to enforce - virtually every team has games throughout the season when they don't get their AHL lines in and the unknown player shows up.

I'm open to ideas on how to solve the problem, but at the same time this is also why there are no bonuses for AHL playoff performance.

Ducks play a great game all around and pick up the win. We actually outshot the kings for once and managed to score 7 goals. Now it is time to try and pick up the toughest win of the series.

The Jackets dominated the Stars in front of their one fan and even she left half way through the 2nd.

Ever since game 1 with the line tweaks, the Jackets have peppered the Stars goalie and RYan Miller played excellent for the win today. Rick Nash had a pair of goals however Tanguay remains hot for the Stars but we limited him to just 1 goal. Lucky for us it doesn't seem like the Stars have anyone other than Tanguay who can score.

Colin White continues to get the most icetime out of all the Jacket's D so we'll have to monitor that considering he is our #5 rated dman. But if he can dominate the Stars, anyone can.

The Stars have done an excellent job keeping out of the penalty box mostly because they are whimps and are scared to hit and get physical. Lucky for us we score 5 on 5 anyways but if we did get PP time I think the outcome would have been a complete blowout.

Rick Nash starting to heat up is a great sign!

I just checked the inbox - the league didn't receive lines from you for these games. Check your send box - perhaps you had a typo or something in the email.

All I know is that I've never seen this happen for the Bulldogs this year, but very frequently against. If a GM misses their AHL lines by accident on occasion, that's all well and good...stuff happens. But when it's consistent, it seems like the GM doesn't care or is trying to manipulate the system. Maybe something like the watchdog system where penalties don't kick in if the problem is rectified soon enough. The third consecutive game with this problem and there's a consequence? I guess it depends what the expectations are as far as teams actually sending in AHL lines. Maybe I just need to forget about the AHL and focus on the Habs.

Part of the problem is we need a consistent way to measure who is sending in AHL lines and who isn't. The watchdog system is great because it is automatic, but checking AHL lines is a manual process. Last year we tried out a system where GMs could report when a fellow GM wasn't submitting lines. It worked Ok but if memory serves only one GM ever actually made reports to us.
