Wings win a close one!

David Vyborny crawls within one goal of netting Detroit a million bucks in the offseason. With only a handfull of games left can he do it? Maybe if he gets more than one minute of ice time like he had today. But it seems like every team that is fighting for a playoff spot in the West also received either 1 or 2 points today.

St.Louis, Guerin, and Conroy combine for all 6 goals and 13 points as the Thrashers take advantage of THEIR COMMISIONER RIGGED SCHEDULE and beat up on the Devils. One day in the future, a long ways off the Devils will stop sucking. But that ****ing day is still three years away at a minimum. Man does it suck to be us. Can we please be contracted?

Jets blow it against Stars. This one could come back and bite us in the ass but at least its a point and we still hold a playoff spot with a game in hand on most teams around us. Losing Turgeon to another injury sucks

Sens smother the Jackets..

Big 5-0 win today as Turco gets the Shut out. Course he only faced 12 shots as the D shut the Jackets down.

Joe Thornton led the way again with 2 goals and 1 assists. he is charging up the points ladder.

Nylander also have 2 points tonight and the Legend of Parros continues to grow. He got another point tonight. thats 8 points in 9 games and is a solid +10.

Next up the Lighting.

The hills are alive with the sound of music...

The Canucks were able to finally snap a 4 game losing skid when sniper Radek Dvorak scored in the extra frame. The Canucks have a few days off to get focused for the rest of the stretch.

In other news...the Canucks are looking to back a deal for a new backup netminder. Please catch me on MSN and we can discuss. Thanks.

The Stars continued their dominance of the CPHL with a win agains the Jets. Drake Berehowsky nets the OT winner, and extends the winning streak to 5 games. Interestingly, a quarter of the Stars' wins on the season have come during the streak as GM Shane tries to put together a respectable team out of the ruins it was in when he arrived. The Stars could finish the year as high as 29th after the majority of the season in 32nd. Wow, what an accomplishment.............

Rangers 6 - Oilers 1

Wow, the Rangers keep on rolling. Today the difference was a solid Roloson vs. a shakey Brodeur who was pulled from the game. Rangers 3rd and 4th line did all the damage today.

Game Stars
1 - Dwayne Roloson (RAN)
2 - Jim Vandermeer (RAN)
3 - Marty Reasoner (RAN)

Next Game vs Capitals.

THE END IS NEAR

Tomas Vokoun watches as Pittsburgh forward Mike Ribiero
chases down a loose puck.

PITTSBURGH - Alexei Kovalev's goal with under five minutes remaining in a tied game sent the Islanders home with their playoff hopes further dimmed.

Sometimes, you run into a hot goalie, and on Tuesday night, the Islanders unfortunately did just that.

Zac Bierk, who made the start for the Penguins who opted to rest their starting goalie Ed Belfour, made 25 saves in the game as Pittsburgh defeated the New York Islanders by a score of 4-3.

Alexei Kovalev scored twice with his second goal breaking a 3-3 tie with less than five minutes to play in the game to crush the Islanders' hopes of a much-needed victory, as they chase down the 8th and final playoff spot.

The Isles' chances were not helped as the Hurricanes toppled the Calgary Flames Tuesday, giving them a six point lead now on the 9th place Isles.

Paul Kariya scored twice Tuesday, upping his goal total to 40 on the season.

The daunting task of making the post season now seems like an impossibility, and fans on the Island may have to wait (again) until next year.

The white towel has been spotted in Montreal - start sending those trade offers. Keep in mind, just because I can't win doesn't mean I want to help you win.

Pens Postseason Bound!!

Penguins Players celebrate a postseason berth with the fans
after the final whistle blows.

The Pittsburgh Penguins looked to Zac Bierk to get them to the postseason. He did just that winning his first ever start as a Penguin 4-3 over the New York Islanders. Alexei Kovalev kept up his hot play scoring twice , netting the winner with just under 5 minutes remaining in teh game.

The win makes the Penguins just the 5th team in the CPHL to officailly earn a playoff spot this season. A huge accomplishment seeing that the Pens were the league last place team just last season. GM Goffie was elated with teh victoiry and said that making the playoffs was the teams main goal this season, and anything that else the team accomplishes is just extra.

The Pens have another huge game tommorow were they will look to stay ahead of the Florida Panthers in the race for 3rd overall in the tight Gretzky Conference.

Kings survive Predators

Los Angeles, CA - The Los Angeles Kings were able to pull off a thrilling overtime victory over the Nashville Predators tonight at Staples Center by the score of 5-4. The win comes during a stretch of games which will determine whether the club gets into the playoffs. Newcomer Matt Cooke scored the winning marker on a shorthanded break with Scott Hartnell.

"Well, we will take the two points anyway we can get them at this point. It wasn't pretty but two points are two points. I was just able to intercept the puck on their powerplay and luckily the puck found the back of the net." said Cooke on the night's events. The game also marked the return of number one center Daniel Briere who registered a point.

Close to returning is sniper Scott Walker who has been linked recently to a multitude of trade rumors. GM Sra would neither confirm or deny these rumors but said in a released statement that anyone could possibly moved and that Walker was a player who may be moved. Stay tuned for further developments....

The Ducks double up on the Flyers 6-3 .

Henrick led the way with 2 goals and 1 assist while Scott Hannan joined in with 3 helpers. The goalies still need to pull up their socks and start closing the door abit more often but other than that the Ducks are happy with the win .

The following players were the stars of the game

1 - Henrik Sedin (DUC)
2 - Scott Hannan (DUC)
3 - Joffrey Lupul (DUC)

Corey Perry proved why he was rookie of the month over Juicy Jokey-nun. Perry played with an edge all game and scored a goal as Juicy was invisible for 22 minutes.
