It doesn't ruin the show at all because the details of the episodes are so different. The overall "scenes" are similar (being on the farm) and the characters are similar but they've diverged so far from the books that you can enjoy both without knowing what's going on in each.

that's why i like reading the book spoilers because it doesn't really spoil anything in the show. i made the mistake of doing that same thing in the Game of Thrones thread and ended up getting several major plot points spoiled since the show is almost a direct translation of the book

Thanks, I'm now caught up to Comic 94. Absolutely amazing! Any other recommendations for an awesome comic series to read now?
I kind of wish the zombies would run and charge at people... would make the show more thrilling imo.
Watch 28 Days Later. It's a super ####ty movie. I hate everything about it, but I think you'd like the zombie-like characters. They're all like 100m Kenyan sprinters and the can climb!

Yeah Ive seen it, not just talking zombie stories. Any other comic stories so well written?

As Bertuzzied mentioned Fables is great.
Here are some other you might like:
Y the Last Man: Every man on Earth is suddenly killed by virus except for one guy. Post-apocalyptic fun with a lot of ladies.
DMZ: Another US civil war breaks between the north and the south. Manhattan becomes the demilitarize zone between the two factions. Stories told from the perspective of a journalist sent in as a war correspondant.
Exmachina: The mayor of New York is an ex-superhero. A little more "political" but an interesting twist on the superhero story and civic politics.
Fables. It's the best written series ever! and the art is even great! unlike walking dead after the first graphic novel.
Agreed with all points! Fables is amazing and the art is amazing too. The Walking Dead's art (outside the first graphic novel) is terrible (my opinion). Fables is strong in both art and story.

Honestly you should pick up the Green Lantern arc Blackest Night.
It was very well written and won't require a lot of background in the DC universe to follow. Avoid Brightest Day (the follow up) though.
Quote:
Blackest Night" involves Nekron, a personified force of death resurrecting deceased superheroes and seeking to eliminate all life and emotion from the universe. Geoff Johns has identified the series' central theme as "emotion."

When I go through the Game of Thrones thread I don't want to know anything about what I am about to watch, nothing at all. I think it's better if even something as small as that goes in spoiler tags just to respect people who haven't read anything about the books.
If something has happened on the show, freely discuss it, if it hasn't put it in spoiler tags.
Pretty simple.
