I would love to see that happen. As much as I can't stand Madrid, I would love to see an all Spanish Final. There would be nothing sweeter than seeing Barca win the Champions League against Madrid.

I could think of lots of better matchups. I don't think I can put myself through another soap opera of Real vs Barca.

I expect to see Barca in the final, obviously there could be better match-ups in the final but after the kind of season Barca and Madrid have had in La Liga, I would love to see that final.
Who do you think would make a better final?

I was only being somewhat serious, I still really enjoy watching those two go at it. I just got a little sick of watching them after that fiasco when they played 3 times is a short span of time recently. I can't remember if that was just last season or the one before.
For me, I really enjoy watching Bayern play, so I wouldn't mind seeing them in the final. Most of all though I just want to see some closely fought battles since I don't have a horse in this race.

I'd hate to have to endure another Barca/Real match. Those two teams have more drama than a bunch of teenage girls, the last few games have been practically unwatchable, you'd probably find fewer slapfights at a 14 year old girl's sleepover and better acting from daytime soap operas.
If the two teams actually fought it out, then it might be entertaining but instead we're routinely treated to a complete circus. It would be a shame if the Champions' League final was reduced to that sideshow.

Benzema with an unbelievable miss. Could have taken the lead there. Great build up from Ronaldo.

Right now, these two matches are pretty unwatchable too.

Not watching the game, but it was interesting that APOEL subbed off Marcelo for Kaka.
Yes, APOEL evidently also have a Marcelo and a Kaka. There you have it.

It is what it is.
APOEL are trying not to get slaughtered by Madrid so they're parking the bus and Chelsea traveled to Benfica to earn a draw. No Drogba, Lampard or Essien in the starting lineup. You have to blame the teams, not the matchups.
Funny, apparently John Terry has lost the armband for Chelsea a few times tonight. It keeps falling off. Maybe this is some sort of cosmic sign?

Chelsea & Benfica are definitely more evenly matched. Not much as far as offense in that game. Madrid looks to be too much for APOEL, who are doing a great job defending. Still can't believe Benzema missed on a great pass from Ronaldo.
Why isn't Chelsea playing Drogba, Lampard or Essien? Injuries, cards or are they simply benched? You would think you play for the away goal, especially during a quarter final.

Thats what I read, but I just thought it was funny that the two teams playing each other had two players with the same names.

No idea, it looks like they're playing for the draw by fielding a weaker team. From a strategy standpoint it makes little sense to me but maybe they're sheltering the guys who played against Spurs on Saturday. Either way, which is more important, an away leg in the CL knowing that if you dont win King Roman will be sharpening his axe? But they also have to qualify again for next season's CL.

Big games up today, Barca vs AC and Bayern vs. Marseille.
Bayern have to take Marseille seriously, one of the biggest problems with this current Bayern squad is that they look over teams as was evidenced with Basel winning the first leg. Once they're up for the game though they should win, but Marseille are a good, well organized and well prepared team.
Bayern though are in amazing form, scoring 22 goals and allowing only 2 in their last 5 matches. They're scoring for fun at this point.
Barca and AC is going to be a good match, of course everyone expects Barca to win it but AC have gamebreaking players and shouldnt be overlooked.

Go Bayern! If they are on their game, like Locke said, they should win. When they're on their game they could give the Spanish clubs a run for it, IMO.
Really not sure who I want to win the other game. Don't particularly like either club
