Also make sure to resurrect the "downtown penetrator", our CBD needs some serious penetrating.

The Delcan Proposal was rejected for being ugly. One of the most boring bridges in the group.

Heh, you guys are hillarious. So you're saying that the bridge will be well used for at least 2-3 months? Well, I'm sorry I got everyone all upset over nothing.

Sorry, I didn't realize you were advocating only buidling infrastructure that will be used 365 days a year under all weather conditions.

Now I totally see where you're coming from, and that's a totally reasonable position.

The bridge will be well used all the time. Let's not judge the traffic: A - on the first work day after it opens; B - On a snowy/rainy day; or C - during Spring Break.
And especially when it's all three.

Well I wouldn't say I only advocate that, but I have to say it does sound pretty good.

I can't help but chuckle at the guy looking out the window in his cozy office in a snow storm and wondering why more people aren't out using the new bridge. Too funny!

I will use the new bridge when the move the memorial crossing closer to the bridge, it would add distance to my walk to work currently.

Sorry...that's where I was going to from downtown...and not just the interchanges but the 4 or 6 lan roads that were pretty much deserted. I have no doubt they have volume on them during certain times of the day, but was almost eerie going up to that area and seeing hardly anybody out even in their cars, let alone on foot.

I was just down there about an hour ago, and in the 10 minutes or so I took to cross the bridge and cross back, I passed 27 other pedestrians (mostly joggers) and eight cyclists (I was counting, because I was curious). There was never a moment during the time I crossed when there were less than 10 people on the bridge. That seems pretty good usage to me, and it will only get busier over time.

Living in the area, I can assure you that there are no roads even close to being deserted. The only road I can think of that you might mean would be Metis Trail between McKnight and 64th, which often feels empty, but certainly isn't anywhere near empty around rush hour. Also, it's built wide enough for all the future growth that will happen.
