Is he the Prothean? I didn't buy it. I shelled out for Collectors so didn't want to spend another 10 bucks on that.

Nope, that is what came in the Collector edition. The preorder bonus was (for me at least) the N7 weapon pack and defender armor from EB.
I'd look at your inserts again. I think some of those inserts had multiple codes on them. I am playing ME on Xbox and it was on an insert inside the case. If I can recall, there were codes for The Ashes DLC (Prothean), Online Pass and some various avatar unlocks. You had to enter each seperately.

Maybe because you're xbox? I just remember seeing the online pass, a plethora for casual wear and the N7 weapons. And then the Argus rifle because of pre order.

I just did a quick search and it looks like all collectors edition platforms have the DLC included. If you have the physical copy (which it sounds like you do) then it should be on an insert that says "Coming Soon."
Oh man, I just discovered this fan-created "where are they now" montage in the style of the ending of Animal House. I'm still laughing. This is is exactly the kind of satire the travesty of an ending deserves.
For those of you playing at home, I did in fact have a second code. I just missed it in my un-boxing due to my hype and excitement. Yeaaaaah, we'll go with that. At least I still have a few mere hours of main story left to play.

Glad you found it. Javik is the only new character that I actually like. I'd honestly rather have Kaiden then some of the other characters they added. I am hoping they add some DLC that brings a Krogan to the team. I always enjoy watching them charge into a group of enemies.
