Sword chick did bring a comic book feel to the show for me. As soon as I saw that character I was thinking ah... what the frick is this.
But I understand that in this situation you are going to have some people that just embrace the role. History has proven that, great heros and great villains alike. The more time that passes the more people realize that this society has broken down and they can re write it anyway they want. Social norms go out the window.
I just finished the second volume of the graphic novels. So far I like the TV show better, but that will change moving forward I am sure.

I can't wait for Michonne to be incorporated into the ground, if she does. The group riht now is so "normal", adding that element, someone who may have lost their mind and has been on her own is going to be cool to watch.
Stop with the realism bullcrap, they are in some Post Apocalyptic world, the world has changed. Some people are going to try to keep the world the same and some people are going to go off the deep end and walk around with a couple dead Zombies on chains.
It honestly isn't hard to believe you're going to see some crazies out there. Most people are naturally crazy, but society reigns them in... that society is gone and it's all about survival now.

lol - the only reason the house ended up being okay is because all the humans fled it. They were following Rick and Carl right back to the house before they noticed, and if everyone left at the house just tried to Ann Frank it eventually someone would have made a noise and it's game over man, game over.

I haven't read all the comics, but from what I've heard (and read myself) the comics aren't that great. I know the dialogue in them is pretty terrible just from reading myself. The art also sucks, outside the first issue I hate the art, it looks awful (not because black and white, just looks bad).
Also, its been said by Kirkman that T-Dawg is not Tyrese.

Yeah, even though I've read all the comics up to this point I'm going to try to ignore all possible show spoilers. I ruined the death of Shane and the appearance of Michonne because of clicking Spoiler in this thread. Both were cool moments but should have been more wow then they were.

Me too. I can't help myself clicking the spoiler tags and I read too much before the last couple of episodes. I'm going to try to read the comics over the summer which will also be a spoiler of sorts, but the tv shows seems to deviate from them from what I've read.

Has this show gotten any better since the terrible finale of season 1 when I summarily quit watching?

I just re-read all 15 volumes in 2 days.
The art just totally sucks after the first volume but the story is good enough where i can look past it.
and seriously dudes. "tainted meat" alone is worth getting the comics for.

Are the comics done? Is 15 the final volume, or is it still on going?
