Funny thing is, and I have made the observation numerous times in the past, that this trend seemed to start when half of Ontario decided to move here.

Ontarians and British Columbians seem to think we're smug because we're an economically prosperous province while they have seen their economic downturns to a higher degree. I think they think we're greedy because we will have natural resources revenue for quite a while longer and many resent sending some of that money out of province in equalization payments.

I don't really care though. Everybody running behind hates the frontrunner.

The poll is from 4 years ago, how can the quotes from individuals speaking on the current state of affairs even be taken as relevant.

I honestly had the same thing to say...those are the two words I would have used to describe Toronto and Vancouver.

Haha. stupid Vancouver and Toronto peons.

I make more money than you and my house costs half as much. and i don't need a 10% off sale just to offset the sales tax.

It's really just a stupid generalization, I lived in Calgary for a long time but now live in Toronto, most people I talk to here have good things to say about Alberta and I have good things to say about Ontario. There are "smug" and "condescending" people everywhere you go, it's splitting hairs to discuss the preponderance in one province over another.

I think the perception is largely the ultra-leftwing people who think they should be able tell us how to run our province and manage our resources.

I'm okay with that.

Getting that kind of lecture from Torontonians is pretty funny though.

I get that impression from this board sometimes . Ooops.

That being said, since joining this board I have met many folks from Alberta (even Edmonton-another oops) and I must say they make me want to move to Alberta,or at least visit.

You're so much cooler than the usual NYers, Quebbies, 'eh" people, etc. Too bad you guys are more likely to visit the western US. ;(
