Think of the craziness in your former city with the tournament this year!

UNC, NC State, Duke, Davidson and UNC Asheville all in the tournament!

A mis-seeded 3. Probably the worst 3 since New Mexico a couple years ago.

And Norfolk State shows why they are a #15 seed.

Florida 29
Norfolk State 6

1st half

Earlier St. Louis gave Michigan St a test. Michigan St won the game 65-61 to move to the sweet 16.

UNC's Kendall Marshall fractures wrist

Quote:
Sophomore ballhandler Kendall Marshall has a fractured scaphoid bone in his right wrist, the team announced after the victory, and his status for Friday's Round of 16 game in St. Louis in unknown.

Marshall, eyes red in the locker room, said the injury occurred with 10:56 left, when he was fouled hard by Creighton's Ethan Wragge.

The second-team All-ACC selection kept playing, hitting the first of two free throws after a timeout. He came out of the game, but then re-entered it, playing about eight more minutes until he left for good.

I'd feel a lot better about having 10 (11 if Kansas wins) Sweet 16 teams if I didn't have UNC over Duke in the final...

No doubt....basketball crazy area....and although there is a big affinity for UNC Asheville, everyone is either a Duke OR a UNC fan...never both. Most lean towards powder blue tho (puke) for many reasons but with Roy Williams an Asheville native, he has a lot of fans.

I was always an NC State fan myself....hard to find a lot of them, but they are around.

Good finish between Purdue and Kansas.

Kansas up by 1, Purdue's ball with 23.3 seconds left.

Kansas hangs on to win by 3. Purdue hit rim on a potential 3 point tying basket at the buzzer.

I always hope for some underdog in this tourney. Right now just because I've caught their games on the tube I'm hoping for Ohio. But I have seen NC a few times this year and I'm thinking I will need a new Cinderella team after their game on Friday.

It really makes no sense to me.
I assume you haven't met very many Duke fans

They still have great talent on the UNC team but might be missing their starting point guard (fractured wrist, non shooting hand). They might be able to get by Ohio, but gonna be a lot tougher against Kansas. Assuming Kansas wins too of course.

North Carolina point guard Kendall Marshall had the cast removed from his fractured right wrist on Wednesday and is now wearing a removable splint, the player's father said.

"All I know is he got it off this morning. Swelling is down, incision looks good," Dennis Marshall said in a text to ESPN.com.
Quote:
Kendall Marshall's status for top-seeded North Carolina's NCAA Midwest Region semifinal game against Ohio on Friday remains undetermined. In an appearance Wednesday on "Mike and Mike in the Morning" on ESPN Radio, coach Roy Williams reiterated the Tar Heels are still preparing to play without Marshall.

"What we're going to do is just practice every day, and if something weird happens that they say he can play, I'm probably going to let the guy play. But I just do not foresee that happening," Williams told the radio show.

The media is such a waste, Chad Ford some ESPN hack is reporting that Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is to enter the 2012 NBA draft. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist fought back and wrote on his twitter, right now all he is focused on is his teammates and winning games. That he'll make his decision after the season that's best for him and his family. I'm sure Kentucky wanted these distraction right now.......
