Default Gushue playing for Gold

Party on the Rock today as Gushue/Howard are trying to win Canada's first mens Oylmpic gold against the Finns and their skip with the greatest last name ever: Markku Uusipaavalniemi I asked my roomie how to pronouce it, wow.

Anyway, Canada witha couple of steals to take a 4-2 lead starting the 5th

They scored 6 in the 6th end - missing a draw for 7. That is insane.

How the hell do you allow a guy to score six in one end of the gold medal game?

The ice is poor and the Finnish skip laid a couple of eggs.

Either way, the Canadian 3rd is just unreal. He is the difference.

Yeah, I didn't see that end, but you don't score that many points without the other guy missing back to back shots with his later rocks. I thought Nichols didn't look very good in a couple of the round robin games that I saw where he missed a lot of shots, and anything he got, he always screwed something up. So it was good that he got it out of his game than and played his best when it really counted.

I watched the game last night, the third played an awesome game he was at 96%. For a third that is a crazy high average.
