Look at his impact in just his first 2 games. Imagine 2+ more.
It's two games. Lundmark and Stajan looked really good in their first couple of games too. I'd give him the fuller sample of 5-9 games before jumping to conclusions. Didn't Backlund look great in his first two games too? He hit the post on his first ever NHL shot in his first ever game and people were already saying he'd be our #1 in a few years back then.

He had absolutely no impact in the first game, and they were playing well before he came. I'm not too concerned

The NHL won't allow him to stay for over 9 games because that will put the Flames at 51 contracts.

He should have been up from game 1, but the Flames took the conservative route. Which sucks because we could use his offense down the stretch.

Yes. His 15 or so goals would totally have been worth burning a year of his ELC and risking rushing his development.

From a development standpoint...this has been almost the perfect storm.

He is a go to guy who has delivered in spades for a top junior team. He has excelled in his role, in every way.

He went thru some adversity with the concussion and responded like a winner.

He plays with confidence and is a 3 zone player...who has consistent focus and intensity.

He is getting a brief look at the NHL game for a couple of weeks. So far..so good!

He will be driven going into camp, knowing he has what it takes.

It's not like he won't make it out of camp next year. It would be a joke if he doesn't make our Top 6 next year. Sucks he plays LW though opposed to RW, we already got Tangs and Scoreface as our lefts. Maybe try Scoreface at right or Baertschi at right with Olli (pending re-assignment).

We don't need Parise at all.

And 0 assists

If Baertschi does make it out of training camp, I'd like to see him take part in a "youth" line. Maybe a Baertschi - Backlund - Nemisz 3rd line. 3rd line with possible 2nd PP opportunities is where he deserves to be right now. Give him the chance to jump up a line if injury occurs or on-ice capabilities shows he deserves it.

For next year, barring proof of need of change, Tanguay - Cammalleri - Iginla and Glencross - Jokinen - Moss look like a top 6 that can be run.

As good as Baertschi looks, I don't know who he would replace in the top six. If anything, I would be surprised to see him land a top-six spot out of camp next season. Let's remind ourselves that a third line assignment is not a disaster, and may actually be better for his long-term development. Plenty of NHL super-star forwards have worked their way up the depth chart.

I would rather see him playing with Glencross and Jokinen than Moss

That's something to decide later I think. The line is extremely effective...question is if it's just them getting hot or if it's their actual ability.

If Moss isn't that good, then it's a good time to replace Moss with Baertschi. If they keep it up though, I can't think of a reason to split them.

So if your the Flames do you keep Sven up say 5-6 more games.
If Jackman comes back I would send done one of the AHL's first before Baertschi.
It doesn't look like Cammy is going to back for awhile.

why do they give him these scrub linemates (no offense to tko, but he doesnt really mesh with svens game). would it kill Brent to put Sven on the second line and let moss bang around with TKO and Greg? Suits Moss's game way more IMO.

but hey, im not an nhl coach...

two forwards return and Sven returns to Portland. That's the only option
