So it is safe to say it won't be televised.

when they start Duha off in the morning by talking about tennis instead of hockey, it must be a big deal...right?

going to be fun times flipping back and forth between Flames and IW tonight. if I don't like how one result is going, there's something else to fall back on...I hope...

Duha said it might be the biggest Canadian tennis match ever?

Yes that's probably true since it involves the highest ranked Canadian ever on the rise playing against the best player ever.

Carling Bassett's highest ranking was 8th:

Rusedski made it to #4, but "pulled a Hargreaves"

Rusedski made it to #4 after he switched sides. As a Canadian he played nobody.

Women's tennis is women's tennis.

This match tonight is the major leagues. Indian Wells and Miami next week are pretty much the 5th and 6th grand slam.

troutman the younger had a crush on Carling Bassett (and Kristy McNichol).

you'd probably still take Carling the older today.

Default Raonic vs Federer

Raonic just won first set against Federer, a tie breaker 7-6. Raonic top serve 142 mph (>90% first serve in).

Federer has come alive in the 2nd, now up 5-1. Milos has played pretty well though, at the very least we'll see a 3rd set.

I'm actually more nervous watching this than I am the Flames game. Love to see Milos somehow pull this out.

Federer takes it 6-2. Off to a 3rd set, but at least Milos serves first......there is a glimmer of hope.

Just a glimmer. Roanic has to keep his first serves in and will have a better chance.

Federer, Federer, Federer............we get it. These guys won't shut up about him.

Raonic goes up 2-1 in the 3rd, maybe they'll give him some love?

Raonic 7 2 4
Federer 6 6 5

Federer service coming up. Raonic is still a kid in mens tennis who is ranked 27 for this match. Pretty amazing. He is probably in the top 5 in serving. It is a learning curve.

Edit: Raonic had two bad calls against him and replay showed he would have won the challenge had he done it....ouch

Game set and match (last match 6-4 Federer). Federer was playing really well and Raonic could not have any break points against him.

Why in the hell did he not challenge that last one???? He would have been up 30-0, instead it's 15-15 and Federer cruises the rest of the set. That was just weird, it looked in to everyone...you could hear the crowd react as well.

But overall, nice showing for Milos. He didn't just roll over and play dead, he put up a good fight. That match has got to be great for his confidence, knowing he can give the top players on the planet a run for their money. Good for him.

Yup although to me it didn't look like he believed he could win.
Still inexperienced.

Yes that was odd not to challenge esp with 2 left. I don't think it would made a huge difference in the end. Roger was playing like Roger. Milos did well ...like you said he did not roll over and die. It is a learning curve for him playing all the best players in the game.

In the end the stats were fairly even

56 first serve percentage and 76% first serve points won are too low to beat the top players.
