Playing on both Xbox and PS3. I find XBox way more imbalanced. Always one team will completely dominate while on PS3 I find it way more even. Maybe because I'm a noob I get put in noob servers?
Anyone want a squad mate?

But the one thing that is right in most of them is if you don't have a tank commander in the upper turret of your tank your really vulnerable. It does make me laugh when I see some guy getting within 15 feet of a tank and greasing it with a rocket launcher.

Eh, I still love it. I have loads of fun with it, though I wish they'd concentrate on more large-scale out-door maps.
One thing that bugs me, though, is how immature the BF community is. Seriously one of the worst video game communities out there, but I guess that comes with the territory with a 1st-person shooter. The chat is filled with nonstop inanity.

I find it hard to stay in a squad it just feels like a giant COD map. I rarely see any team work. I have this for Xbox and PS3.

Try switching to a couple different squads and find the ones that are working together. That's generally what I do, if I'm not playing with someone I know. Some players are more eager to co-operate than others.

I find Modern Warfare a lot worse than Battle Field, but either way I mute the chat...just because one isn't as bad as the other doesn't make it good.

Really depends on the server and time of day, the server the clan I'm in runs tries to keep the chat to game play related talk as much as possible, no rasism/homophobia, whining to a minimum etc. Obviously you can't have admins on 24/7 but the coverage is probably 16 out of 24 hours.

What's the server? Because it's definitely the exception, then. The great majority of North American servers I've been in during regular EST daylight hours is full of non-stop insults and bull####. It's like reading a transcript of a 4chan posting.

Depends on how much you like Metro, because it's popular they went with a 24/7 Metro server. http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3...-FAST-RANKING/

Also, in case you weren't aware you can hide the chat by pressing H I believe.

Damn it, Metro's my least favourite map, haha.
Yeah, I know you can hide the chat, but if you want to communicate with your team in any way it's basically essential if you're not all in teamspeak together.

I play on the NCIX server a lot and sometimes that UAN server. I try to avoid fast spawn ones, though. I also play on that War Is Hell server a lot. This one too, if I'm in the mood for only Karkand expansion maps:
http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3...hicago-Ranked/
Then I have a bunch others bookmarked that play 24/7 certain maps, in case I just want to play Caspian Border or Operation Firestorm or something.
If any of you know anything about my user name or avatar on CP, you'll likely be able to recognize me in game if you see me.

I've been trying to do that. And yeah, it helps but I still find it alot more of a individual game than team work. It's hella fun though!
The only thing I wish is perhaps have all guns available. It's a PITA to unlock a lot of guns and I don't have time to spend playing long enough to unlock a lot. And I have to do it twice since I play Xbox at Home and PS3 at my girlfriends.

Anyone have control setting tips for ps3? I normally play 1st person shooters on pc, but mine is too old now. I find either my aim is way to sensitive, but if I turn it down too much it makes for some ridiculously slow turning in close quarters
p.s. woohoo my handle is trollytrackz I think on ps3. I'm not very good!

You can still set off the C4 after you die and respawn? That's super lame...
I say that as someone who usually destroys in a tank. Tanks are damn near unstoppable when you use them right.
I often play with a dedicated 3 man tank team, all three of us equipped with repair tools and using teamspeak. Driver has guided shell, reactive armor, and thermal vision (makes spotting mines super easy), gunner or CITV seat have the proximity sensor. The guy in the CITV seat usually gets out and repairs damage while the other two cover his ass. If he does happen to die, the others can hold the enemy off until he can respawn in the tank. Or run away if the enemy is all over.
Occasionally a really good helicopter pilot will be able to take us out in one pass before we can shoot with him down with a guided shell, or we'll get rushed from all sides by 3+ guys with C4/rockets or a second tank will flank us while we are fighting another tank, but that's about the only ways we end up getting killed.

So the new patch is not far off and the full list of fixes are here: http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3...4780279541805/
Personally, having ammo bags not disappear anymore is great. And my favorite fix...... my C4 jeeps will have horns once again

I've totally forgot about this game. I played Bad Company 2 a ton and have barely even scraped the surface of BF3. They are so similar that it feels like I'm playing the same game, but on different maps (that aren't as good). BF3 is a better game, but it's way too similar to BC2 that I just can't get into it.
Anyone else feel the same? Hell, I probably played BC2:Vietnam more than BF3.
