Immigrating To Canada
I have a Filipina friend who wants to immigrate to Canada. Is there anything I can do as a citizen to help her in being accepted that might otherwise not be available if she didn't know me?
As serious a question as that is, I see a high potential for hilarity...

Why? seriously, if you care about her enough, do it, and then divorce her after she gets here.

Besides that. Legit question. But I suppose first we have to get all the 'other' stuff out of the way. Continue as planned.

As a call center person or what? I'd imagine if she could get Telus to help her because of what she does it would be a lot easier. A big company like that could be a pretty good reference.

Because marriage is a punishment for murder is some countries. Also, I wouldn't want the baggage of a manipulative sham-marriage on my soul.

And she's worked there for years as well. Been promoted several times, but just can't seem to get the transfer for whatever reason. What she made out to me is that others from Telus have done the same thing.

She's working for Telus in Canada?
Can't she just apply for permanent resident after a couple years?
