Default Has anyone worked for NSA(slo pitch league) as an ump?

I have seen that they are advertising a lot on kijiji for umps.
I called and apparently you have to go to an ump school and then be trained throughout the spring before you are on your own.
The pay is not bad for what you do.
What is everyone elses experience or opinions?

the ump school for softball here is a joke. I went and sat in a USSSA ones few years back. I umpired a lot for baseball in the past couple years. A couple parks asked for this and just said listen.. I played ball from the time I was 4 up through college I am sure I can handle myself for 10 yr old baseball." That worked for me HA!

HAHA!! Really? You think drunk adult men playing softball is going to be boring ? First off you are going to get verbally abused every game and you might have to referee a fight or two on occasion.
