Ironing clothes (dress shirts) - Garment Steamer?
I hate ironing clothes and a coworker suggested I pick up a garment steamer. Said she hasn't used her iron in years.
Anyone have any experience with this? Can I actually not have to iron my dress shirts anymore?
This one in particular was suggested:

I usually end up ironing a shirt in the morning. Can`t stand it.
Anyone else confirm this worksÉ
And how do I change my keyboard back into allowing me to do question marksÉ

That's a good one. I picked mine up from the Laundry store for about $280. Didn't realize it was so cheap at costco. (wait, I guess mine is a 2000M, slightly more expensive)
If you want to see it, they have a demo model there.

I have a steamer too, but it doesn't give the crispness that ironing does for shirts. If you're just looking to get creases out quickly, I suppose a steamer is good enough, but personally a steamer doesn't compare to an iron and it shouldn't, because they have different purposes.

There are also some Tobi models I've seen people mention on the interwebs.
One of my only concers is that some people claim it simply won't replace your iron. It sin't much use to me if I have to do both. But if I only have to break out my iron once a month to get that extra crisp look, I'd be happy.

Once you get the hang of a steamer, you can complete the work in half the time it would take to iron. Weigh this against the need for crisp lines an iron makes. Personally, the time saved is well worth it.

my wife really wanted a steamer becuz she hates ironing her shirts - so i bought her one about 4 years ago
if i recall it was a couple hundred bucks
i assembled it for her and got it all good to go in the spare bedroom.... it has stayed there ever since and still has never been used
that's my only experience with a garment steamer

i usually end up doing all the ironing since it's my own stuff that ends up needing it more often, so I bought a steamer as well with the hope of doing more faster.
I found it took the same amount of time and effort to do my dress shirts, and again like others said didn't look as pressed or clean
Where the steamer had the clear advantage was with my wife's stuff whenever I needed to iron her stuff, it was much easier since women's clothes always seem to have extra frills and wrinkles that you have to be super careful ironing around.
Mens stuff like shirts and pants, ironing wins,
womens stuff like... everything complicated, steaming wins.

I leave it to the professionals and pay a couple of bucks per shirt to get them properly pressed. I just make sure that I have about 10 days worth of shirts.

I have been ironing shirts for years and would think the steamer is a waste of money. As mentioned already it won't give your shirts the crisp collars, sleeves. I am on the road and have to rely on a crappy iron so it really is more painful than I am used to. A good iron will make your life easier for sure. Just set up your ironing during the game and time will go by while you complete the task. You can also find a pretty good routine for shirt, collar, left front, left back, middle, right back, right front, sleeves in that order. Mindless after a while. Good luck..

One of the positives of living down in Houston... Never having to iron your shirt.
Dry cleaning a dress shirt is $0.89 down here and they iron/starch it as well! I never have to iron my dress shirts anymore as I just end up paying the price to have them dry cleaned/ironed on a bi-weekly basis.

This is my routine. My wife hates ironing my shirts as mine is twice as big as her's so I do both of our shirts. Lately, my teenager daughter has been wanting to iron (no far no burnt shirts yet) so that monthly allowance is finally paying off.

You shouldn't even need that. Just wet the area a tad with a cloth when you put on your shirt. But yes, I believe the steamer would help with that.

Look for different hangers and you won't get them.

I have a steamer, it's a nice thing to have. It won't completely replace the iron but it's a hell of a lot more easier and you don't need to break out the board, no need to figure out weird ways to fold your clothes over it, etc. Gravity does the trick.
