Alberta's top names for 2011
Some of these names are hiliarious! I see some name changes in the future - "What were my parents thinking?"
http://calgary.ctv.ca/servlet/an/loc...ub=CalgaryHome
From the article:
Some babies received one-of-a-kind names, such as the boys named Doc, Essay, J-Cub, Jäger, Moo, Stylez, Smiley, Solo, Stiff, and Tuff; and the girls named Dreamz, Luv, Lyric, Mega, Meta, Siri, Story, Symphonie, and Tuba.

I gave my daughter a very classic name that could easily be used as a stripper or rock star name, just to keep her options open later in life.

I was looking for the Onion's logo on that link, sadly not there.
I think this is proof we as a race are getting dumber

I feel bad for the day these kids start sending out resumes. You thought having "fluffybunny876@hotmail.com" on a resume was bush league, just wait till little Stylez resume starts making the rounds.

Most of those names sound like they came from the show "Flavor of Love". How much sway does Flava Flav have in Alberta?

There should be an approval stage for newborn names where parents are councelled when they choose absurd names. It's an unfair burden placed on kids to be tagged with Stiff, Moo, Tuba, Stylez, etc. If there's one thing I've learned in life it's that kids are cruel and you want to give as little ammunition as possible to ensure your kids aren't the ones singled out and picked on.
Also it's crazy how movie stars influence how kids name their children.

No doubt. There is a lady in our organization with a wacky name like that. I had been deleting her emails for 6 months without opening them thinking they were spam.

Isn't Tuba a the name of the mother from that Kingston "honour killing"?
