While I'm pretty sure he'll be a better player than Ritchie I hope not too many people are holding him to the standard of an Ovechkin, Stamkos type player. I'd be more than happy if he ends up like a Loui Eriksson, Patrick Sharp type of player.

I think most of us are just happy to have an exciting prospect who seems like he has a good attitude. It will be fun to watch this kid grow no matter what level he gets to.

This. I don't understand why some people are being negative. No one knows if he'll even be NHL worthy or the next Wayne Gretzky. Why can't we just be excited about a prospect? Would any of you go up to Sven and say, "oh you're having a good season? Well Byron Ritchie was really good in juniors but isn't even NHL caliber anymore"?
Just calm down and think about the positives. Just cause we've had a subpar drafting history doesn't mean Sven won't be a good player. I doubt anyone really expects him to be the saviour of this team but you guys should stop being buzzkills!

if we pick between 10 and 15 again in the upcoming draft (and I have little doubt that we will), drafting Derrick Pouliot would be interesting. Is considered a top 20 pick in all rankings and mock drafts, has 55 points this year as D. Since we already have Sven and Wotherspoon, why not go for a little chemistry?

Drafting for junior chemistry is always a bad idea.
Draft the player for how you see him turning out, if he's a good player he will develop chemistry at the NHL level with someone too.
