1-1 what a finish from Simon Cox. As good a goal as you'll see anywhere! Cool, calm and collected! #IrlCze

Nice 1-0 win by the U.S. over Italy. Dempsey from Altidore.
The match needed more Mario.

Good defense from the U.S. in the final third.
Italy drove possesion and had the ball all game but without Cassano, Rossi, and Balotelli they just had no quality in the final third.
Italy tends to struggle in matches when the other team sits back and defends. They are much better when they are forced to defend and can create off the counter, but when they are forced to create against a team that is sitting back they just don't have the cutting edge in the final third.
Looks like there is a crazy ending going on in England right now.

He'll be the saviour! We know his penchant for scoring big goals in important games for England.
Cahill's goal was hilarious. How offside would you like him to be?

Yech.
Does this mean we have to hear another two years of ESPN ignoring the other results in which the US suck and focusing on this one friendly game in an attempt to convince us that the States are decent or even relevant in soccer?

I wouldnt worry too much about it, International friendlies arent always the best judges of a national side, I havent seen a game as slow as that first half in a while. Granted, I didnt get to watch most of it.
Defense might be the Dutch's Achilles heel right now, they've got good midfielders and strikers but their defense looks a bit shaky.

I wish all soccer games we're like that last 8 minutes or so. That was pretty exciting.
