Does anyone remember the thread about losing your pet? I have a story to share but I don't want to take away from Mayer's thread.

Yep, count me in for a donation, as well. Having a loved pet go through this is bad enough, and nothing can change what happened. But at least the CP community can take away the financial burdon.

Mayer, if it helps, nobody wants to give YOU money, we just want to give it to your dog.
It's not charity, dog people are good people.

It is as easy as an email money transfer.
A girl at the Starbucks across the street from my work, had a similar situation, and needed a little help. It was that or "The Big Sleep". She managed to put together $1200 in 3 days. Dogs are the best people out there, and real people will always step up to help.
However, I expect him to be renamed Pylon if I make a donation.

I don't even know what to say....I'm amazed at the outpouring of offers of money and even employment. Dog people ARE good people!
I am anxiously awaiting news from the vet. Hard to think about not being able to be with him right now.

I feel for you. I would do whatever it takes for any of our pets as long as my vet told me the animal was not suffering. Some vets will set up some sort of payment plan as they don't want to see animals put down.
Good luck hope buddy has a speedy recovery

CP is a great venue for help, and I do encourage you to set up some sort of paypal or an email address where we can email money transfer to you for some help.
I for one, would love to help out, I had a buddy who's dog got hit by a car too, and he managed to scrape up the dough but I think you should take advantage of the outpouring of support here on CP.
Thinking of you and your pup Mayer,

I have a sense of how you feel, as my dog ran away on me years ago, and I was dreadfully scared of something like that. Luckily, it did not happen, however, it doesn't change the fact how scared and sad I was.
I don't have a lot to give, but count me in for helping out your pup. I know vet bills can be obscene, but to it's worth it to help your family member. With the outpouring of this forum community, it looks like we can help you and your wife cover a decent amount of the costs. Like a previous poster said, the money we want to help you with is for your puppy.
I wish him the best of luck through his recovery. *Pat on his head*
*edit* on a side note, and echoing the sentiments of a few of the other posters, I'm truly proud of being part of this forum after reading this thread. The outpour of condolences and assistance to Mayer is pure class by this community

The vet decided this morning that she had to take another x ray before determining the best course of action. So we still wait....
Thank you again for all the thoughts and offers.

Hey Mayer, I went through this a couple years ago with my bulldog, Pickles.. We turned our backs for one second and she jumped off the arm of our couch trying to get cat food and broke her back left leg (she fell awkardly between the couch and shelf).
She broke it pretty badly and had to get pins put in. Ended up being about 4000 before it was all said and done. We luckily had pet insurance that covered a little more than half so that made it easier.
I'll help out if I can as well.
